Did anyone else spot former Carroll head coach Mike Van Diest in the stands during the Root broadcast? He was behind some of the Cat fans and wearing a Wyoming hat and a purple and gold jacket, which was surprising given that he was most recently serving as MSU Northern defensive coordinator. Maybe I was just seeing things and it was someone else.
 
He was there. I saw him going to the west entrance and then inside going down the aisle between Section 102 and 103.
 
I didn't see him but I would not be surprised if he was there. For those who don't remember Mike was a member of Larry Donovan's staff at UM. My recollection is that he was coaching here Marty Mornhinweg was the QB.
