Wow. The F'r never lacked confidence, that's for sure. He looks like Shrek. Yes he can be a blowhard but ISU is going to be good, might be scary good. Every time he's jumped to another Big Sky team it takes him three or four years and then he gets them to win the Big Sky and advance in the playoffs. :shock:

Actually, when they both moved up, it was Idaho that was successful, and Boise was terrible. ONly lasted for a couple of years, but the Vandals were much better than BSU.

Most people were unaware of that. It was Idaho that was in the top 25 for a while before it went downhill. I am not sure what people are thinking when they say BSU has all the advantages over Idaho. Besides being in a metro area what advantages? It's been a mismanagement thing not an advantage thing.

Location, location, location. Moscow is a shithole little town in very rural Idaho, and has to overcome Wazzu just ten miles up the road. UI has become Idahos red haired stepchild. Attendance wise, just the people of Moscow. Who the hell is going to drive that far over two lane roads to watch poor play. Boise is on the interstate, Treasure Valley population of about half a million, lots of money floating around, corporate donors right in the area. The metro area IS a big thing. Mismanaged, yes. Don't know who to blame but, UI is a total failure at the D 1 level.

I was aware of it. Initially Idaho enjoyed success while Boise slid. I do agree with you, mismanagement in Moscow is to blame for the Vandals slide to the absolute bottom of FBS. While they may never have been going to the top there is no reason they should have been as bad as what they became.

However, Boise State always had the advantage over the other two state institutions. Offering recruits a chance to live in a metro area is one advantage over the other two small towns. The other large edge is all the CORPORATE donor money in that metro area which took them from being an actual community college into becoming the largest university in the state. That was accomplished in only a couple of decades and it was primarily local dollars fueling that growth. Further, it didn't hurt that BSU was located not only in the largest city in the state, but also their capitol city. I'm sure that gives BSU an advantage over similar funding requests coming out of Poky tello, or Moss Cow, for new facilities.

As to football, don't forget this huge advantage. When BSU made the jump they had an actual stadium. On the other hand, Idaho played in a large pole barn. The smurf turf palace then was about the same size then as WA-Griz is today. After making the jump you would expect Idaho to upgrade into something respectable but although they have "renovated" it a few times it's essentially the same pole barn it was twenty years ago. This is only one example of the mismanagement in Moscow, but it is probably the most glaring one impacting their football program.

I hate to defend this idiot but I believe "cess pool" is the correct spelling in Cheney English or "Chenglsh". The words are modified to make them easier to pronounce with meth-mouth.
