Yep, wish the Griz had played a little better in that game. I guess I don't link him to that one since I was there and didn't actually see him via coverage of the game.

He owes 2004 to that #@!$%^ field. I know, I know, I have heard it all about both teams ect, but that field made the difference in that game.

Beating them at home was such sweet, sweet revenge. One of the best victories ever.

And a little post script here, having been to Chattanooga, there is a reason why the Griz always seemed to underperform there, it sucked, the stadium, the weather, the crowd, everything, it just sucked. After coming off the high of the semis to go there was like the air going out of a balloon.

But I loved Chattanooga. Great town, nice facility. And the weather was terrible a couple of those years, but actually quite nice for some of the title games. And truthfully, the weather isn't great anywhere in the country that time of year. Only problem with Chatty is that it's not easy to get to.

I enjoyed the town, and the flight with a plane full of griz fans was great, but I have to respectfully disagree on the stadium and atmosphere. I went in 2009, we had just beaten App State, and it felt like the Championship game was so much smaller than that game, in terms of emotion. Anyway, glad we don't have to go back there anymore, Texas sounds much, much more fun. I mean why put a Champtionship game in a cold weather city, that would be like putting the Super Bowl in New York, that would never happen . . .

We too loved Chattanooga. Were there twice, and, yes, it's a pain in the neck to get to, but many places worth seeing are.

Maybe. But if the Dallas area gets one of their infamous January ice storms they're known for around the championship game, you'll be wishing for Nooga's rain.

Can't agree. More important were the lousy OOB call that brought back the Griz kick return TD and Talmage's dropped TD pass. With both of those and a sizeable UM lead, JMU could not have resorted to their hogs to pound us. They out maned us on both sides of the ball, out rushed us 314 to 44 and were able to control the clock. The only way Montana wins that game is to get a sizable lead and take JMU out of their game. Their guy makes his FG and Carpenter misses both his. Field was a PITA, but holding it as the determining factor in the game is just whining. We did not have NC caliber OL or DL and were exposed by JMU's size.

On the other hand that argument works pretty well for the 2000 NC game....
