Griz til I die

Good read here on the new look Griz headed into our exhibition game tomorrow. Anyone planning on going?

Also, multiple mentions in here about Money Williams returning for his Sophomore season, so that’s encouraging. If they felt like there was any chance that he wasn’t going to return to the team then they wouldn’t have mentioned him as much as they did. Gotta wonder how long he’ll be out.

I’m excited for the season and to see all the new guys. If anyone is going tomorrow, please share updates with us!

I kind of don’t see him getting a lot of time this year any way
For real? After what I just saw on the court I would think he’d be a pretty big part of the puzzle. Granted it’s an exhibition game and everyone was getting minutes and it’s distorted…..but I came away thinking this could be a rough year.

I do like the Aussie we picked up (big freshman who can score inside and out) and the redshirt Freshman Zach Davidson looked good too. Soph Amari Jedkins has skills too and senior Kai Johnson has flashes of awesomeness. If we can put it all together we may be good. Hard to say right now.

Nice, love it. I thought the coaches and media would take the easy way out and pick Weber #1, so that’s very telling that they have us at 1. I do think we have a good team. All the transfers we brought in were major contributors at their prior schools. This team could be surprisingly good. Let’s get on with the games! Go Griz!

Looking at what the coaches and media are thinking, I would say that is a realistic forecast of what to expect. UM and MSU were in the final game and have solid returning players, with solid newcomers. I feel that you have to base an analysis of potential on those factors. Beyond that, the speculation becomes everyone's WAG. I also feel that the coaches have a better handle on it than the media. Let's bring it on.

This matches pretty closely to KenPom’s predictions. I think the key is whether Whitney can be THE guy on a championship team. I think it depends on whether his jumper has improved this summer more than any of the 4 off-seasons before. It will also depend on whether other players can give him spacing. He had Moody and to a certain extent Thomas last year. The focus was on Bannan and Moody the year before last.
