I haven’t posted on this site in years. Had to get a new password. Did all of that to say you, west coast fan, are an embarrassment to the Cat fan base. This post is beyond stupid. Like here to the sun beyond stupid. Please stay away from this and all message boards. And never, under any circumstances, tell anyone you are a Bobcat. Not until you pull your head out of A$$. That is all

I was rooting for the cats in the first two playoff games. Lunkheads like West Coast and catsrback, along with cat fans in my personal life, changed that.

Time to loose ESGGCG, too. The 16 year streak turned this rivalry into a blood feud. It’s been over 20 years since it ended.

I remember rooting for the cats in ‘84. Not gonna happen this year.
Ditto. Attended both playoff games in Bozeman in 84. The semifinal against Rhode Island was a great game (aside from the fight in the stands I know nothing about). Even though I'm a Griz fanatic, I screamed and cheered for the scats and the Montana boys. Always want our Montana boys to do well. However, the change in the behavior and attitude of the scat fanbase has me despising everything scats. I will not cheer for them and hope they get embarrassed.

Bobcat fans are also dubbing him "the next Patrick Mahomes, he's also faster and stronger"

3 games, 1 that accumulated a little over 50 yards! Definitely a legend in the making.... 🤣 😂

Was also seen healing the sick.

Blasphemy. Until he gets sacked about a dozen times, with an injured throwing shoulder, and still leads his team to a National Title in the other team’s home stadium; let’s pump the brakes.

And threw for 500 yards in a game when it was needed.

If Andersen could not stay healthy at 6'3" 235 pounds running that offense, Mellot has no chance of lasting until the last game of the year vs. the Griz.....that kid is going to get really hurt .....another thing....if ndsu loses it will not because Mellot beats them, they will take him out of the game regarding his running ability.......having said this I tip my hat to the Cats and am rooting for them.

Mellott won’t make it to halftime if he has as many carries against the Bison in the Chipper. See Ifanse and “chronic knee soreness”.

What was Dave doing his true freshman year?

He sure as hell wasn’t winning Natty’s!
I do think Mellot is a more physical qb and he is only a freshman which is impressive as hell. But to be mentioned in the same breath as super Dave at this point is premature. If he leads the cats to the chipper then you can start to inhale, and if he gets them to the chipper again next year then you can exhale and try and make the argument.

So it's a done deal? Care to make a wager?

I'm betting NOT.

Everything that happens in Bozeman is premature, the only way their population grows is through migration from San Jose. Missoula has "A River Runs Through It". The last good thing written in Bozeman was "Next Exit Belgrade".

Poor comparison. They have very little in common and it's way too soon. Dickenson didn't play his freshman year, so there's no comparison through the first three games of their freshman year. Dave wasn't a particularly hard worker, according to his HS coach Jack Johnson. He admitted that he was a hot head in HS.. He said he wasn't a good practice player. Mellott is just the opposite.

The 90s are a whole different era of college football, especially in the Big Sky. QBs on almost every team threw the ball 40-50-60 times a game. It was a wide open passing league. EWU and a couple others are the only ones holding onto that. UM, MSU, Weber, SAC are all run first/tough D teams now. I don't even think EWU is a top 3 team in the league now. There last five games they were 3-3 with losses to us, Weber and MSU. Lame wins over PSU, Davis and barely beat a marginal MVFC team UNI at home.

One thing I'll say for Mellott is that he's very popular. I've never seen anyone catch the public's imagination like he has. He'll never have the passing stats that Dave had and he definitely will run for more yards, assuming he stays relatively healthy. He may end up being a lot more popular than Dave was. Being from Butte gives him a big edge there.
