Most interesting thing I heard regarding Choates coaching of offense and personnel, which let’s face it has been a train wreck for 3 years now, was what Colter and Tootell talked about on their podcast.

If Choate is going to make an excuse that they built their offense a very specific way, and most of that around a running QB game in Murray and Andersen, then why in the hell is this 4 star Travis Jonsen who is that fastest guy on the team and played at Oregon....which by the way you brought him in to be a QB....and is a running QB.....out catching passes on the perimeter instead of playing behind Center??

Instead they go with a passing QB in Rovig who didn’t really do that well at that either and try to put a square peg in a round hole? It was very fair criticism of Choate and his decision making and I’m surprised Cats fans aren’t more in arms about it.

Let this sink in....9 of 13 Cats drives were 3 and out 😳

this is the million dollar question right now. only two possible answers....

either this staff has no clue what they're doing, and clearly don't see what is so obvious right in front of their faces. I mean if colter and everyone else sees it...our coaches just must be idiots.

the other option is that jonsen is just not who we thought he was. he's basically regressed every year since high school so it's not out of the question that after everything they have seen of him...they don't think he's suited to run this offense whether he's athletic or not.

I don't know what the answer is... but there's likely more to it then simply our coaches can't see that jonsen is more like murray than rovig is like murray.

Aren't many of the best cat players still on the second string awaiting more injuries to the starters?
I hope so!

Trouble at MSU for sure. this must have been a exceptionally shitty bus ride west, ouch, fuck that sounds really miserable, sick and in pain and after a beat down that he and Ty knew was going to be one. I’m thinking that the TA experiments need to come to an end and play him at either rb or lb. The game just isn’t built for guys like TA to play both ways every down at this level. It isn’t done because obviously takes a toll. Your other guys besides TA need to step up. We’ll be watching at home when the griz aren’t on. I’m intersted to see how their freshman rb pans out.

Probably should have started Rovig in first game at least he would have been a game day starter going into SDSU. Lol. If choate can actually pull out a winning season after all the shit that has befallen them since last spring, then he might be a sentimental long shot for Coach of year. Lol. Odds are against it though, at best I say 5-6 which is hell generous because I would like to see TA play and succeed. Lol Dillon kid don’t you know :thumb:

It’s like watching last chance u every weekend so far, hard not to watch. :thumb:

He just wasn’t quite himself. Usually he is very high energy and has a lot to say. I also thought he might have looked a little ill.

I didn’t interpret it in light of any perceived criticism.

If you’re asking a serious question, it is poor form to call someone by a childish name.

not sure what that last part means?

I did interpret as criticism because of the rest of the gameday thread. people were going crazy as often happens when they choose to type as they watch. choate was getting hammered along the way. and after he spoke at halftime he was hammered again. so that is exactly how I interpreted it.

then when you look at the comments after he decided to cancel his press conference (many of these comments by the same people critical of his halftime interview)...it's clear to see it was a lot of criticism. then people find out he was ill and they take back their comments.

like I said...all is fine. people are free to draw whatever conclusions they want regardless of the information they have. I just pointed out this was a perfect example of fans not knowing the entire situation but drawing conclusions just the same.

Last sentence wasn’t directed at you ilovethecats. It was the term “choach” used by the other poster.

I don’t take exception to what you were saying, I just didn’t read the press release the same way, and wanted to share another perspective.

You guys keep crowing re: the Bobcats falling to SDSU on the road. How does Mr. Wahlberg or others think the Griz would do vs. the Jackrabbits on the road? I'm a Griz fan, just a devil's advocate, here. I mean, if Brint is sweating the WIU game, where would he be re: the Jackrabbits? :(

We would be decided dogs at SDSU right now, we would not be able to play 2 good quarters and 2 sketchy ones and expect to be in the game. That has been the pattern early which I hope changes this week.

I’d say both teams are right where the majority of both fanbases thought we’d be.
I hear ya, but I don’t think that’s technically accurate. Yes most probably thought cats would be 1-1, and maybe even surprised Griz are 2-0. But it’s like when we were kids, and we looked up the price of baseball cards in the Beckett magazine.
The Griz show “2-0” and then after that it shows an arrow pointing up.
The cats show “1-1” and then there are double arrows pointing down.

Starting to see a little light at BN now, I see one guy has jumped back on the 8-3 bandwagon and another thread is Remember 2006? Apparently they got destroyed the second game that year and ended up ok, so that's the hope for 2018 too.

I'm sure after Wagner all will be well again.

Holy heck! If that isn't an amazing analogy, I've never seen one. I remember getting booted from the grocery store for spending too much time reading but not buying the Becketts. I was just trying to make a living so I could buy some beef jerky and maybe some front pegs for the ride...

Can you imagine if Wanger can somehow Chadron State them? Choach’ll have to have his gallbladder out. He’s gonna be running out of organs by season’s end

Yes! The Bo Jackson shoulder pads card was a game-changer. Through insider trading, I came upon a bunch of them. I brought one to recess, flashed it around, and basically robbed children of their heirlooms

The 10/20 game between SDSU and UNI should be instructive.

Griz are undefeated against any MVFC team not named NDSU since 2010. I think we’ll do just fine against WIU and I think we’d do just fine against SDSU.

Sooooo, after the way the Griz have looked the last two weeks, ya'll have a 6 page thread bashing the cats about how they looked at SDSU...…...ironically heading into a week where the Griz play a team that the cats beat in week 1, and will probably give us all we can handle and most likely win.

Open mouth, insert foot come Sunday.

no it's fine. you guys are 2-0 and clearly trending up! cats are a terrible 1-1 and most obviously trending down.

clear as day.

You wouldn't. It's related to football, not a super cute/played out message board comedy show.

Damn, here I thought it was about bitching on a message board about posting on a message board about posts another message board.
