You beat me to it.

God Bless Steve, family, and friends. What a shame to lose such a good person, especially taken out the way he was. It appears to be an outright cruel and sick way to leave this world.

I will remember Steve McNair for being a class act, friendly, humble, leadership, and one of the toughest QB's in history. That guy played as hard as any QB I ever seen.

...and if my memory serves me right...
...dave dickenson was the runner up...
...to mcnair for the offensive award...

... 8-) ...

as in politics, this is the dark side of professional sports. every star player has his pick of groupies, and some teams even have reps to line up the ladies and make sure all trysts are discreetly kept out of the press. mcnair sadly paid the ultimate price for his indiscretions.

Sadly, citygriz, I think you summed it up pretty well. I was always a McNair fan, from his Alcorn State days, but married men who have public girlfriends can expect nothing but trouble.

Yes McNair won the Payton in 1994, but I wasn't aware of Dave being the runner up in 94.

Yeah, he was injured most of the season played with a broken leg, arm, hand, foot (he was banged up all season it seemed)-I think he missed a few games that year didn't he? I think he was even put out of a playoff game.
