McGillis A DAWG!

Romar offered Seyfert a walkon to Washington and we know how much he has produced at Mt. Romar must see something we dont but his instincts on Seyfert were off the mark.

Romar wasn't the coach of Washington when Seyfert was a high school senior.

No kidding! He recruited Seyfert to play at St. Louis where he was an assistant coach before going to UW.

Romar was the head coach at St. Louis not an assistant...and Seyfert had a full ride from Romar to play for the Billikens (sp)...

UW > St Louis.

Romar can recruit higher cailber kids to UW than he could to st louis.

From Today's Seattle Times:

McGillis, meanwhile, said yesterday that he had decided to spurn a scholarship offer from Idaho to instead walk-on at UW.

He was MVP of the Class AA state tournament — Montana's largest classification. He averaged 19.9 points during the season, shooting 60.8 percent from the field and 49.2 percent on three-pointers. He is considered a late bloomer and grew three inches to 6-6 in the last year.

He also considered staying home to walk-on at Montana, where he wasn't offered a scholarship, but likes the challenge of trying to make it at UW.

"I just felt the most comfortable there," he said. "It's kind of where my heart was."

McGillis called his decision to walk-on at UW "pretty much set in stone" but said Utah State recently offered a scholarship and that there was a chance he could change his mind.

Seyfert left St. Louis and Romar went to Washington. Romar then offered Seyfert to come with him to play for the Huskies. Bobaloo was spot-on in his original logic.

Grizzled: The info about Seyfert walking on at UW at Romar's request was supplied by Seyfert in I believe an interview in the Kaiman. Let me know if you find it as I know you will look to see if my facts our correct.
