McDowell

The Griz just have to commit to him being the guy and game plan accordingly. There are a handful of Griz players on this team with exceptional athleticism and him and Junior are the top of the list offensively. He can throw the ball and Pease has to let him rip it downfield a couple times early to get defenses to back off the run. Kid is talented and a competitor. There should be no debate.

He struggled a bit on some throws (underthrew a few) but that can be cleaned up and once Pease actually got him rolling out, using more screens and the WRs making some difficult catches helped. Would like to see those adjustments made before halftime in the upcoming games and less QB runs (would rather not have another QB getting hurt for the yet another year in a row)

McDowell is clearly the better at sustaining drives and making plays. Even if it’s small bites, he gets it done more consistently. More accurate on the short passes - throws more catchable balls.

And he is 6'4 225 lbs and fast.

I worry a lot some of his decision making. Times he could have run the ball and went for big gains but he tried to force a bad pass instead. Other times he should have kept the rock instead of a hand off and would have had big gains too. Hopefully he gets better and better. The potential is there.

I said before the start of the season "don't be surprised if McDowell ends up being the starter" and I was ridiculed. The dude is a gamer and has a lot of passion. He 100% should be named the starter. He is way more comfortable and confident than Vidlak is. Vidlak needs a year or 2. If they don't make McDowell the permanent starter, Bobby is smoking meth
