I feel like this is a decision the coaches made. Yesterday in his Instagram post, he made it sound like it was all but a done deal that he was coming back next year. That makes me wonder if they’re ready to anoint Ah Yat or if they’ve got their eye on somebody else

Ah Yat is the future for you guys. McDowell had a hell of a run but teams got more film on him in the playoffs and he struggled. If you don't bring in another transfer you can cut it loose with Ah Yat and be probably better throwing the ball. Still though, McDowell had a nice year and certainly a memorable one for your program.
Uggh. I fear it's less about a QB coming in and more about a coach going out. But who the hell knows anymore.

I find it hard to believe something was up during the game, if there was, Ah Yat should’ve been put in sometime during the 3rd quarter.

I posted on another thread that Griz Nation has to brace itself and prepare to lose some studs to the portal. We are the minor leagues to FBS now and these kids aren’t going to pass up big NIL money. If you’re not bracing yourselves, you’re going to be mad or caught off guard. Cliff won’t be the last one. We will also get some studs in the portal like we have already.

He is a good FCS quarterback. He is not a FBS quarterback. He might get a lower level FCS offer, but i don't see him as a Power 5 quarterback. I really enjoyed what he contributed to the program. He has a moxie that the team needed at that time. He did have some limitations, but we would not have been in Frisco last week without him.
