4.5 40.. Another TJ!!

Jk probably wont see a talent like him at UM for awhile if ever.

So let's say he is ready according to those who seehim. Which of the beloved at safety would you drop or rotate?

Maybe Rogers and Gamboa will be the starting safeties next year.

Note: I don't have any inside sources telling me that what I just typed isn't complete bull$hit.

So what would be the DB rotation then?

Who knows, coming in as a freshman it's pretty unknown if he'd be ready for the FCS right away. With that kind of size... if he goes DB I'd think they'll look at him to be a safety... no way a corner.

I agree that he doesn't fit the mold for a CB--too tall--but that seems more likely than being a S. Safeties aren't made, they're born. If he isn't being recruited specifically to be a S, then we certainly shouldn't try to "switch" him. Although other "switches" sometimes work, a switch to S very rarely works. I said the same thing about TJ playing S in the NFL. You can teach how to tackle but not how to hit. Thus, IMO, MR should be a WR.

Looks good but think its weird he will be our 3rd reciever commitment thus far plus 3 more visiting this weekend. Nico Graham, Josh Janssen, and now Marq Rogers, Plus we have Sammie Long, Marquin Russell and Mike Tate visiting this weekend have to wonder if some of these guys will play different positions.

OFFERED BY UM BASKETBALL?

81. Marq Rogers: 6’3” Small Forward, Fort Wayne Concordia H.S.
Offers: Montana

Interest: IU-East (NAIA)
Marq is a good athlete and an elite defender. He really gets into you on the defensive end and uses his length and quickness to be disruptive and cause turnovers. Good 3-point shooter too.

But Facebook has him "new friend" with Nate Harris and Justin Green...

Sammie Long is listed as a UW verbal (would be great to change his mind!)

6 ft 4 would be a big cb. Put him at wr coach.

If he has the speed, he may be an absolute lock down corner at 6'-4"!

Being a CB isn't just about speed, a lot of it his how flexible your hips are and mainly your instincts. Typically people of his height don't make good DB's because of their lack of hip flexibility, but it is possible.

We are bare at the WR position. We need talent, not just bodies. Great if some of these recruits are talented and decide to commit to UM.

Not that much taller than Tru....

Welcome aboard, Marq (great name by the way).

I really hope we keep him at WR. I am sick of us not utilizing big WR's and TE's through how many coaches now?
Yet, our competiton (EWU especially) always has them killing everyone at the FCS level. As for a big DB, put our big WR's out there at end of the game redzone situations to break up the passes. Coaches in the NFL and every level of college football do that.

Also like he can hoop too. His being a shutdown defender is a very good sign of great hand eye coordination and excellent footwork Now let's hope we utilize a big WR or a few from now on.

2-3" makes a significant difference. But like I said, there are always outliers, but there are reasons why you don't see too many 6'3-6'5 CB's playing anywhere.

I still haven't figured out why a receiver recruit would come to this offense to die of boredom... sigh***

Yeah...the irony of that, coupled with the fact it seems to be ALL we can get a verbal from is truly dizzying.

I am in complete agreement about the "perception" of the offense. But, once resolved and it WILL be resolved this spring) our offense will have the right guy receiving snaps that can deliver the ball with more consistency then what we witnessed this year!

If things were as truly bad as some of you say then we should just stop playing football all together at UM.
Get a grip on your emotions and stop with all the chicken little talk! Its obvious that the majority of you dont have clue one.

Go Griz 2013 & Beyond
