Mariani Hurt

crackgina said:
Marc called tonight and said he's really thankful for all the support. He is tired and hoping to get out if the hospital tomorrow. I think he was going to be a big part of the offense this year and that makes it an even bigger bummer.

Very good to hear.

On a side note, I can now disregard anything you post on this board, since it appears that you could be one of the "insiders" who led to the current UM mess.

Good article. Thanks for linking it. No ligament or tendon damage for Mariani.
The whole article was great. Here's two points I especially liked:
Jim Wyatt said:
The Titans are expected to place Mariani on injured reserve, officially ending his season, but he will still earn his base salary of $490,000 this year.

[Joe] Theismann said he’d love to talk to Mariani, offer encouragement, and support. ... “It’s a devastating injury, but he’ll be back. He is a young guy and he’ll be back stronger than ever.”
Felt sorry for Theisman about his horrible injury, but never liked him much as a broadcaster -- he just had an off-putting manner about him. I'm liking him better now.

he'll be out this year and return next year. then he'll go on to one of the most impressive nfl careers we have ever seen. just my take on it. :thumb: stay strong marc!

I have always thought Marc was a Wes Welker waiting to happen.

Cut Crackhead some slack here, there has only been one Blue Pony to account for much with the Griz and folks up there talk to each other. I have no clue about the so-called "insiders" who led to the current "mess" (whatever that means) but Crackhead is a decent dude and you shouldn't rip him for passing along something relatively positive from a class player.

Placed on IR... I guess that should have been expected... I don't know Marc personally, but he seems like the kind of player that would want to be on the sidelines in a wheel chair or crutches for every Titans play...

Keep on keeping on, Marc... The Grizzly and Titan nation have your back

... When the Titans picked Mariani in the seventh round of the 2010 draft, plenty of analysts scratched their heads. But the former Montana wideout had a great rookie season and made it to the Pro Bowl as a return man. Having already overcome long odds to remain on an NFL roster, Mariani said he’s ready for the next test.

“It is just another mountain to climb,” he said. “This is a different type of adversity than I’ve ever experienced before, but I know I have to be patient and work through it. I am going to give it all I’ve got. I’m not afraid of battle, I’m not afraid of adversity. I just have to pick myself up, and I know I have a lot of support.” The strongest supporters include his mother, Julie, and father, Steve. They were watching the game in Montana and quickly flew to Nashville. His girlfriend, Carly, will serve as his nurse for several months. “It is a bummer and it is devastating that my year ended so soon,” Mariani said. “… But I am definitely not going to get down on myself. I am going to have full optimism and full confidence that it’s going to be back 100 percent. My plan is to get back on the field.”

If anyone can come back from this its Marc. Wish him well, and hope for a good recovery.

Lots of remarks on that thread about how people were looking forward to seeing him contribute as a receiver this year. Also liked the remarks about how he had already emerged as a leader, and especially liked the comment that a majority of the team came over to see how he was doing, including Kenny Britt.

And on a side note. Costarica2, the ultimate MM hater, and total knucklehead was permabanned on that board for comments he made in regard to Marc. According to that Mod it was his first ban in 10 years of that board. It was a good ban.

He actually wished for MM to get hurt and then said it was karma when he finally did..... :die:
Seriously, CR2 is the worst type of sports fan
