Malfeasance at the Top

How long will we let this misguided and defective leadership run amiss and play whipping boy to inarguably one of the best programs in all of FCS, and definitely one of the greatest traditions in this great state of ours!? We are watching a travesty unfold right before us, and NO ONE is willing to do a damn thing about it!
It's obvious what little leadership exists here is now too afraid to stand up and do what's is right- bring forth transparency, command a following, reinstall a sense of mission and urgency, represent US and stand up for US not AGAINST US! It is more apparent each passing day they are far inferior to any real leadership needed to right this ship. It's time now to demand true leadership, someone who is unafraid to stand for what's right, instead of looking out for his own best interest. Service before self. He must go!

If you mean Engstrom, you are correct.

You are correct, partially, in addition to the regents and others in charge. Not to mention the misfeasance and nonfeasance by those directly under him. A lack of transparency, self-conviction, and full disclosure abounds. He is instilling a culture of weakness, and an environment of deception throughout. Ineptness, spinelessness, selfishness, narcissistic, egocentric - all could and should be used to describe the leadership up top, or lack-there-of. They are not only destroying the elite program it once was, but tearing down the University itself.

We need a TRUE leader to arise and take the reins, a change agent. All in attendance are too cowardly to do this, and stand up for what is right. We have no one capable of stepping up. We lack a TRUE leader - not in our coach, not in a qb, not in an AD, and obviously not in the "CEO" of the U, nor in any of our regents. It's not just going to fix itself, and guide itself down the proper path.

We first need a united team, with aligned interests and a common mission. A president fully behind, backing up and supporting the Athletic Director, prepared to go to bat for him any time needed. And such a group able to find and support a competent coach and coaching staff, and believe in their coach and what he can attain, not just HOPE the he might attain. A system much like what we've always had, and what our brethren across the divide have been able to attain in the past few years. All of these must work in tandem, not each looking out for himself at the cost of throwing any of the others under the bus. Such actions in any organization should be deemed COWARDLY at best.

Do you think his hand selected and hand-crafted coach and AD are up to this; willing to stand up and take the reins, or do you think they are just going to comply and bow down to the almighty? And come on "coach" D - stop discounting the horrible execution of your staff and your players and telling the media how good the team played, and how good he played, and how hard he tried, and how good they will be next year. This is just doing you a huge injustice - take (some) responsibility and own up! Maybe your players will follow suit.

So, please tell us what you're gonna do about it, Big Guy.

I agree that Engstrom must go, but he will have to be yanked out of Main Hall, and with Board of Regents support that is not likely to happen. It would take a major uprising of the fan base to get rid of him.

Unfortunately it will take several years of piss poor seasons like this to mobilize enough support to send Engstrom packing. It will happen, but it will take years, and Griz are screwed until then. All you can do is get enamored of mediocre seasons, and/or find another Fall activity/team to focus on.

Wow, sounds like a job for a caped crusader. Maybe abraham lincoln
Grow up people, Coach mick will do a fine job, we will once again be a classy program and the sun will rise in the east. I think some of you guys need hobbies, something besides living vicariously through college football players.
