Loud Injury

I was worried about a collar bone too initially, but expect he wouldn’t have come back out if that was the case as others have stated.

Dislocations suck, but if you let them heal and work to tighten the tendons they can be limited. I do have a finger that still dislocates every time I use it to push just right on doors and such though. My shoulder which was dislocated has never given me a recurrent issue, but never stretched it out the same after and gave up some degree of movement to not have that happen again. Don’t think Loud can be afforded that luxury. I don’t know how MN or home grown could deal with it being a constant issue. It hurt like a son of a gun when I did it. I’ve helped reduce a few and it can be a pain to get them back in.

I sprained both AC joints during my time playing football and though painful at first and somewhat limiting was able to play through them though I had a larger degree
sprain later that took a bit longer to heal and they never sit the same again so your movement is further limited. Hitting can hurt afterwards.

Hopefully his injury is one of the latter injuries if it’s a shoulder and something he can work past soon. I would expect him to be out at least a few weeks and would expect Hawkins to really attack our corners next week in Pocatello though, Lawler stepped up yesterday.
I dislocated my finger pretty badly last year, but I kept it in a splint and worked on rehabbing it and now it's back to mostly normal. It's a little bigger than all my other fingers but I have all my mobility back in it and it's got good stability. I think it's all a matter of how you care for it after the injury and I'm sure our trainers will take good care of him while he is recovering. Hopefully we see a return this year.

Mine was splinted incorrectly when I was young and the tendons never tightened or healed properly. Definitely about how well it is taken care of initially. Sports medicine has a come a long ways since I was in any athletics. And in competitive collegiate programs it is a whole new world of resources for today’s athletes.

He landed on his right shoulder, and it was his left that was injured. In the replay on TV, it looks like he was trying to grab the QBV with his left hand/arm, the QB got loose, yanking on that arm before he hit the ground with his right shoulder.

He left the game holding is left shoulder / arm.

He did land on the right, but I think it's the left he's re-aggravated.

Loud has been wearing a shoulder cuff since the North Dakota game, which is quintessential for someone who has a labrum injury. A torn labrum or partially torn can in turn lead to more frequent shoulder separations & dislocations. Good news is that you don't have to have surgery on it until after the year if you want to try to play through it. Bad news is, every time that sucker slips out, goodness that hurts....

Thanks for the info! I guess we'll see how he does going forward. If he can play through the pain then he plays if not then he won't.

Exactly the issue. It is ridiculously painful. Also, you don't want to inject them frequently, as that can degrade the tissue when it comes surgery time. If that's the issue and he can make it through the year, surgery is some months of recovery, but back in pretty good shape.

I couldn’t see the player from the Griz who kicked the Idaho player when he tried to help him up. I was in the NEZ and didn’t get a clear shot of the whole situation. I didn’t look good and it also looked like the Spud player was a drama queen. I think he was hurt about three different times. Off the field and right back on after that. Regardless, Griz were lucky they didn’t get a PI out of that incident.
Like this guy... gotta love soccer

"Bobby thing"...like a lot of coaches and orgs these days, some of it not sure yet, some of it privacy I'm sure, some of it not letting out intel to future opponents.

Wasn't said to be a bad thing or even attacking him, it's just how he operates

I know this means nothing, or maybe less than nothing, or even the opposite, but Loud is still listed on the ISU two-deep. My guess is he is out and this is trickery at best but Bohanan has been removed from it, so it appears they did modify it, and not just change the title.
