Looks like you old caoch K is interviewing at Utah

I hope that K gets the nod! I'd even get to see him in Chicago every so often.

U of U is a HUGE step down for him. In terms of prestige it's barely (if at all) better than the Griz.

LK saying the same things he said before leaving UM. typical coachspeak.

"I felt it was in the best interest of our organization to make the decision now and move forward, rather than wait until the end of the regular season. I want to thank Terry for his hard work and dedication to our team, and wish him well."

Said Stotts in the same news release, "I want to thank Senator Kohl and Larry Harris for giving me the opportunity to coach in Milwaukee. I understand this is a part of the business and I wish the Bucks organization well in the future."

The Bucks had struggled to a 23-41 record in Stotts' second season as coach, after they went 40-42 and reached the Eastern Conference playoffs last season.

Stotts was hired in July 2005 to replace Terry Porter, who coached the Bucks for two seasons. Stotts had one year remaining on his contract.

Speculation on Stotts' replacement centered on Milwaukee Bucks assistant Larry Krystkowiak, who is being seriously considered for the University of Utah head coaching position.

"I'm not going to talk about that at all," Krystkowiak said today of published reports linking him to the Utah job, vacant since Ray Giacoletti resigned on March 2. "I'm an assistant coach with the Bucks; that's what I can say.

"I'm looking forward to finishing the season out (with the Bucks)."

Krystkowiak was hired by the Bucks before this season, and he has one year remaining on his contract with the team.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that Utah athletic director Chris Hill interviewed Krystkowiak in Milwaukee on Tuesday. Krystkowiak, 42, came to the Bucks after two seasons as head coach at Montana, his alma mater.

Krystkowiak led the Grizzlies to back-to-back Big Sky Conference titles and a pair of NCAA tournament appearances.

One of Krystkowiak's major duties this season has been to tutor second-year Bucks center Andrew Bogut, who played at Utah under both Rick Majerus and Giacoletti.

"It's been great working with him, and we've formed a special relationship here," Bogut said of Krystkowiak. "I've enjoyed working with him here, as an assistant. Just having him here has been a help for me."

The Bucks were 16-15 in late December, but injuries to Michael Redd and Mo Williams led to a dismal January, and the Bucks were 3-17 without Redd in the lineup.

Redd returned after the all-star break, but the Bucks struggled to win close games. They were 4-7 since the break, and they blew huge leads in losing at home to Chicago and Cleveland. They also lost by one point to Detroit and in double overtime at Indiana.

The Bucks play at home against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night.
