Logan Fife, Fresno State QB Commits

My take with Cliff is that we all saw his ceiling during the regular season run. He regressed in the playoffs. I don't think you would see Cliff play better in the future, but you could see him play worse. I had heard even before Cliff went portaling, that the coaches were leaving the competition wide open because they believe the Ah Yat has a higher ceiling which would make the offense more dynamic. That said, all these people piling on Cliff need to STFU, the young man gave everything he had on that field.

Did he regress? Or did he do what everyone did when facing the top defenses? Using that logic, NDSU's, Delaware's and Furman's QB's ALSO all regressed in the playoffs...heck, even Gronowski "regressed" when playing the Griz, compared to his season #'s.

Both can be true at the same time. And seeing it isn't a dig at Cliff. The results of his tenure go without saying. Progression or regression aren't necessarily linear.

I think you guys are all spot on. My take. 5 schools in six years, and I could be wrong, but wtf. I like him, and thank him. Seriously where is any type of loyalty here. The kid had zero stats or even fans until he got coached up, and loved in Missoula. It’s so strange? He reminds me of the kid in high school or college that said on Monday. “Hey let’s all get together, and go ice fishing on Saturday, but he is the only one that doesn’t show up”. Could be a bad analogy, but he reminds me of those times. Good Luck Clif, but you should always remember the people that helped you the most!

Yeah, Clif's going to the big time… From close to 26,000 fans per game at home to about half that at Temple. Wonder how many false starts their fans caused this year?

I had multiple people standing behind me at the Chipper complaining about Cliff. Talking about how they don’t like him as a QB and how he “wasn’t good”.

All I did was turn back to them and said “he’s the only person to get us to this game in 15 years. Maybe ease up”

And they quit bitchinggg the rest of the game.

That's a good point but it seems another point is being missed.
McDowell is the only QB in recent times to play out the season without a major injury.
I hope Cliff does well wherever he lands and thank him for his time as a Griz.

it IS a great point, and a testament to his durability...another factor that goes unappreciated.

That is true as well as his scrambling ability but he also had the benefit of a greatly improved o line.
