The orientation of this setup seems strange if they are trying to focus on the stadium and mountains. But I'm sure they what they're doing. GO GRIZ!!

Not sure which way is the backdrop, but it is either the Stadium and BAC, or the Mountains. Scenic views either way.

It is not a random field. It is between the fieldhouse and stadium. Views of the stadium at one end and the campus and mountains on the other. Also big enough to handle the large crowd and parking nearby.
