LMU ON THURSDAY

GrizLA

Well-known member
It is a long drive down the 405, but I will make it to LMU on thursday. I hope UM plays a better game in the LA area than they have in the past couple of years....

LMU game in the tournament was great. LMU coach was well aware of Johnson but did not have time to prepare. LMU will be prepared in the rematch. If N.Colorado vs. U of M game is an indication of the future it will be most ugly in LA area again. MT staff has a whole ugly video to look at for solutions to steer clear of last years funk.

Oh, no.....my friends won't go with me to any Griz games as the past 2 have been bad...really, really bad.....I thought this year was supposed to be different.....LMU is on a losing streak so maybe it won't be so bad....the students are fun to watch...lots of them....it will be raining so it had better be worth while....If the past games are any measure, I will be the only Griz fan there besided the relatives of the players...

:D :o Did not mean to scare you off but they played so bad Sat. that I do not have any friends. Johnson is so good that he is worth the trip to watch. LMU coach is going to do everything he can to keep Anthony Johnson from beating LMU but I do not think AJ can be stopped two games in a row and he is the best free throw shooter I can recall. Qvale may not be there. Selvig is very big and tall but has not been able to score the basketball as of yet. I assume he did in high school. MT has a freshman point guard who is starting and improving but if it is close at the end he is a liability at the line. Staudacher and McGillis can not buy a basket. We all know Staudacher can shoot and McGillis shots look bad when they do not go down. Young is entertaining but wild. Taylor is underrated but not preferred by staff as of yet. This may change. Ward will make a difference if Qvale does not make the trip. MT had 4 good games in a row and play great defense but the last game was a turkey. Good luck. :o :D

cbs sports..It says you can watch the Griz play LMU tonight for Free.,

free may be too expensive given how we played last

prediction..Qvale plays =win
Thanks....but it is a great day here and I really enjoy loud students even if they aren't Griz fans...so, I will make the trip down to Westchester...I have heard that Tinkle and Qvale are both ill and can't make the trip....this doesn't look promising, but I am always hoping to meet some more UM fans at these games down here....

Selvig plays also = win. Thanks for the link! :D
Well, the crowd at LMU was absent...too bad...but the game was interesting to say the least....Don't know where the stuff about Tinkle being a mild mannered guy comes from but he was anything but....the refs leaned a little to the Griz but all in all a good game....I don't see UM doing so hot against better competition as they have no inside game at all....lots of 3 pt attempts, and most went in, but you can't win many games like that...Cherry is going to be something..he isn't bad now, but tends to play out of control and over exited....nice to see, but a steady head is as valued as a steady hand....all in all, the Griz redeemed themselves....the 20 0r 30 Um fans there left happy.....a big plus is it is raining in Los Angeles...and that is a good thing.....

i knew hell would freeze over or it'd rain in l.a. before the griz won a road game with grizla in attendance.

but, hey, grizla, let me tell you, we do have an inside game, only he was in north dakota to be with an ill father. you would have been delighted with the progress qvale has made since last year. at least in the two games i saw--oregon in person and washington on tv--he was the dominant inside player. remember, he was the north dakota high school player of the year as a senior, and had offers from a couple of bigger schools, but chose montana in part because of his friendship with derek selvig. his development under tinkle has been dramatic, and i can assure you every pac10 school in the northwest would offer him now if they had the chance. why we didn't redshirt him, i'll never know. guess we were desperate--which goes to prove once again, desperate is never attractive.

each of the prior two years, i, like you, was extremely disappointed with the performance and effort of this team. not this year. i believe we're into a new and exciting chapter in montana basketball.

Hye City...when it rains in Los Angeles, that must translate to Griz wins here and there....my point was, not that UM has no inside game, but they had no inside game AGAISY LMU on THURSDAY! Folks here are too quick to pick fights....fortunately, those of in Maroon on Thursday, and a little olde stuff got along pretty good....I think Cherry is a catalyst to greater things for the Griz and Tinks is a coach people want to play for...it showed...finally~
