Little League World Series Semi-final Game-Montana over Cali

GRIZ and CAT fans, at least through this weekend, let's get along and pull for these boys from MONTANA!!! Can we dedicate this weekend as a no trash talking weekend on EGRIZ? Who is up for this? A good way to honor these boys.

Griz Fans and cat fans will be united for once! Great win for a bunch of kids from Billings Mt.

Actually they are guaranteed two more games. They will get to play an international team on sunday whether they win or lose.

Pretty neat that they brought in Brent Musberger to do the play by play. He was giving a big shout out for Montana the entire night.
He was raised in Billings.

Don't they play the winner of the Pennsylvania/California winner? That team has to beat them twice to advance to the chipper which would give them 3...?

And to put this thing in perspective---how about a team from a state with fewer than 1M beats a team from a state of 36M!! Just a smidge bigger talent pool for those Cali guys to pick from eh? :D

MAJOR KUDOS to the Boys from Billings and best of luck in the title game--just need another stellar pitching and defensive  :thumb: performance and continue to show that grit & moxie!!! :thumb:

Did Billings have more talent then California? Did Billings have better coaches? Does Billings play a more competitive schedule during the regular season? Each of you can answer the questions. This game gives evidence of the reason athletes in many sports play the game. You never know who will win until the game is played. It's about time that many of you fair weather Griz fans get behind our football team and know that we can beat Tennessee....how about it?

no "if necessary" games.

Wow, seems odd that in a double elimination tournament, the only undefeated team could end up one and done at the end. Let's just hope that doesn't happen.

Billings will play the winner of Penn/Cali on 27th. If they lose they will play an international team on the 28th in the morning. If they win, they will play an international team in the afternoon on the 28th.

Every team was guaranteed 3 games with one being against an international opponent.

So who's bigger?

1. Carroll's NAIA Championship wins.

2. U of M's FCS Championship wins.

3. or a potential USCS win by the Billings boys.

4. or have the Billings boys already eclisped #1 amd #2?

...not to mention a playing season that is a fraction of what Cali has.

I turned the volume up because I couldn't watch most of it, but was sitting there in the 6th with CA bases loaded, and was nervous... And then the walkoff before they could even really get back to showing it... Sweet!!!

The Mariners need to sign some of those kids now!!! :thumb:

So how does a kid who is batting under .100 for the year end up on this team? Or am I wrong about how these players are chosen? I was thinking it was like an all-star team.

All the quoted batting averages are from the Little League World Series ONLY. So yeah, Montana has a few kids that are 1-10. Obviously the best kids have been selected. They have just never faced this kind of pitching before. Amazing job and keep it up!. The whole state is definately behind these kids even if a few are clueless.
