Line up and sound off Chicken Littles

It was a pivotal, perhaps tipping point, game in this program. I think the key was Griz receivers finally held on to the ball for 2 or 3 big plays in the 2d half. Seems to me making difficult, spectacular catches was a hallmark of past Griz teams.

What's the big Deal? It's a free world! I, like many others want the Griz to win as many games as it takes to get Stitt fired and Bobby Hauck back! It would be the only chance these players have at being a National champion! As hard as they work, they have no chance under Stitt. Under Bobby they could realize their dream. The dream that brought them to Montana, in the first place!!! Go Griz!!!

Think before posting. Could Hauck possibly bring back a championship, or a few? Yes, very possible. However, he would not bring a championship for the majority of the current roster. I honestly do not see Hauck sticking with a fast paced, air it out, aggressive offense. His offensive philosophy is a 180 from Stitt. The adjustments to a Hauck offense would be every bit as critical and time consuming as the change from Delaney to Stitt. Hauck would be no less than 3 years away from a championship run. Meanwhile, Stitt is 1 to 2 years away from a championship run.

Regardless of who would be coaching, a championship run will be determined by who is in charge of the defense and how much they can improve. With Hauck, the defense would likely be off the field more with more ball control. However, his defenses tended to be a lot of bend, but don't break as well. I am sure Hauck's defenses would be giving up more yards in today's Big Sky, just because that's how the conference has evolved the last few years. I doubt a Hauk coached team would put up the points like Stitt's offense does.

To me, it is honestly a wash, as for results and where the program is heading. The difference being, Stitt's boys, for the most part, are staying out of trouble. I am on board with either coach, and my support for the program as a whole, has not changed. For Stitt to not be retained, this year's team will have to do a complete flop for the remainder of the season. I have a feeling, this team is too close to let that happen this season.

8-3, Stitt retains his job. 7-4- Stitt likely retains his job. 6-5 or worse, the revolving door approach will continue. In the meantime, I am excited to continue to support this program, coaches, and players. I look forward to see how this team improves, and who steps up? Even getting the defense to average, and improved play on 3rd down defense, will do wonders for the results. To me, that is realistic this season.

I don't want the Griz to fail but Im not impressed yet, we beat ISU. I expect the Griz to make noise in the playoffs and win the big sky. If we dont do that then that is unacceptable. We have high standards here and we should not comprimise for mediocrity.

Griz Fans' logic:

We should win every game. If we lose, we should have won. If we won, the other team must have sucked. If we won big, we should have won prettier. No team should ever experience success against our defense. No team should ever be able to stop our offense.

Revel in the road win, fellas. Revel in Jensen's absolute trucking of the ISU D on his TD run. Revel in the fact we're doing this with a RS FR as the QB, and very young receivers. Revel in the fact the D made halftime adjustments and gave up just 10 points in the 2nd half. Revel in the fact our O-line has improved dramatically from last year, as has our QB play, our WR play, our kicking game and our running game....or the fact we've found a superb backup RB in Alijah Lee. Revel in the fact we're 2-1 in conference and 2-0 on the road. Revel in the fact we seem to have found a kickoff guy, with four touch backs....or the fact our punter seems to have found his leg again with 2 50+ yard punts this week. Revel in the fact this team, SIX games in, is PERFECT in the Red Zone...or the fact our Defense is 2nd in the conference in red zone defense. Revel in the fact our defense leads the conference in sacks and defensive touchdowns. Revel in the fact we've won two straight road games and please understand that the 75-80 yards given up in the past 10 minutes of those two games haven't mattered because we've been milking the clock and preserving the victory. Revel in the fact that both Stitt and Semore appear willing and able to make adjustments necessary to ensure victory. Revel in the fact these players LOVE their coach and would run through a wall for them. Or the fact there isn't any division or "me me me" guys on this team. Or the fact Stitt runs a very clean program and has successfully changed the culture inside the locker room from divisive to TEAM FIRST. If you doubt that, go listen to Gresch Jensen's post game interview from yesterday.

Nope. We have some great recruiting classes coming in over the past couple seasons, and virtually every player and parent has credited Stitt and his staff as one of the big reasons they are choosing Montana. We are a better team than last year despite the really bad luck of losing Phillips. The trajectory is up - let's enjoy it, folks!

we ain't getting there overnight. Even if Vince Lombardi himself were the coach hired after the shitstorm. Revel in the process and the progress, instead of dwelling on the negative constantly.

I have griped and will continue to gripe about defense. I said in the other thread that it's unfortunate for the offense that their great showing today is overshadowed to some extent by the defensive ineptitude on display every Saturday. It's nice that the defense got a couple of key stops at important points in the game, but still gave up over 500yds and 30 points. The team can't count on out scoring everyone

I'm with you hm.grwn.grizfan

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it required that you outscore people to win? Does it really matter if it's 13-10 or 39-31?

You are correct, however, if it's championship football UM aspires to, the defense is long ways off.

Be careful hm.grwn.grizfan talking sense around here will get you frustrated lol

I think all will all agree Stiitt and co. will have soldified their road warrior status and everyones confidence in them with one particluar road game in late November. Cats may not be great but they are good and are better than last year and beating them on the road will be an accomplishment this year. Yes I know we have beat them in Bozo more than once recently. However for this coaching staff and this team it would be a great win!

I really want to see them beat Weber in Ogden. Then State in Bozeman. I will then call them "road warriors." As of now, they are a dangerous team wherever they are. That's it. But I am absolutely delighted to see victories on the road these past two weeks. Despite the defense, it's been very encouraging.

Go Griz! (for you b_f_c_99, but mostly for the Griz!)

Thank you PDX!

It would be the only chance these players have at being a National champion! As hard as they work, they have no chance under Stitt. Under Bobby they could realize their dream. The dream that brought them to Montana, in the first place!!! Go Griz!!!

The Hauck players had three chances in 7 years (including one in his second year); that's all they could ask for. How many chances have Stitt players had? Go ahead and look it up...I'll wait. :| :|

If you think Stitt inherited the same situation as Hauck, you're in denial.

Right. 0-3. So, NO National Champions by Hauck-coached players.

Talk to me again after Stitt's 7th year. Let's compare then.
