Well, given what EWU lost, I think them @ #6 is even more ridiculous. When they're 1-4 after 5 games, think they'll still be ranked?

Eastern's schedule will be more to overcome than the losses of the offseason. Outside the three WR's, I don't know what you think they lost that can't be replaced. Compared to last season, the OL will be better, the running game will be better, and the QB will have more experience. They still have plenty of WR talent that you've probably never heard of, but will after this season. Annnnnd, do you really think that EWU is going to lose to Weber at home and start 1-4?

You keep thinking EWU will suck, but you'll be eating your words, again.

I like how you avoid discussing what you lost on the OTHER side of the ball. ;)

Ok, I'll talk about the other side of the ball. EWU lost Jeff Minnerly who was hurt most of last year and Zach Johnson, who was also hurt much of the year. They return DB TJ Lee, LB Ronnie Hamlin, DE Anthony Larry, and both Andrew and Jordan Pulu. Dylan Zykstra and Jakob Pugsley are back after lots of filling in last year for all the injuries. Plus UCLA transfer Tevin McDonald and new recruits. Defense will be better than last year, no doubt. ;)

Well you'd better hope so. Last year's defense gave up over 400 ypg.

I F*CKING love being on the outside looking in. We will surprise (not me, the haters) some people this year. Hold on to your hat Griz Nation. :thumb:

You're right, I do hope so. Last year's D was abysmal and yet EWU still came within 3 points of a National Championship appearance.

Me too! It doesn't happen very often but it kinda feels good! 8-)

Honestly I am surprised we broke into top 25. A team with a 5 and 6 record last year with all the offseason battles UM has had etc etc etc.

EWU's defense will be much improved as we will have a great D Line, one of our top LB's back, and one of the best secondary's in FCS. Our offense will score points as Adams will have an offseason to work with the 1's and we have a couple beasts at WR that red shirted last year that should fill some of the void we lost there. We will definitely have some new wrinkles in the offense this year so it will be interesting. Our biggest issue is that we may have scheduled ourselves out of the playoffs as our schedule is an absolute train wreck. If we can somehow start 2-2 or just find a way to make the playoffs, we will be a tough out.

As for the Griz, I expect the Griz to be tough as nails towards the end of the year similar to 2011. You may struggle early as you have some tough games early on, a lot tougher than many on here think, but I think the Griz will be a top 5-10 team by years end, or at least playing like it.
