Liberty loses big after beating Montana

Well, a mediocre team like SIU is probably a pretty average team in the MVC which would likely put them in the top echelon of the Big Sky. Hate to say it, but it's true.

You didn't hate to say it, and it isn't true.

I watched Southeast Missouri State University beat SIU earlier this year. SIU was bad! And, SEMO just lost to a DII team. Liberty really shot themselves in the head with that loss.

Yup, anyone who says Montana does anything out of line with music is either a liar, or has never been to an actual game in the stadium. The music shut off WELL before a play is even being close to run.

62 addressed several things. Not just the timing of turning down the noise. All make Missoula a tough place to win.

SIU lost to a SE Missouri State team two weeks ago who is 1-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference, a team who hasn't had a winning record since 2010 which was their first winning season since 2002.

SIU would be middle of the pack in the Big Sky.

The Salukis had 7 turnovers that game and lost by only 3 points, so the SEMO game is decieving. Also SIU should have beaten Indiana as well, so thier record so far is not indicative of how bad or good they are. Carbondale can be a tough place to play and I believe the Salukis are above average this year. I watched the game with Indiana and they looked good and really gave that game away at the end.

FYI, I searched the NCAA rules and searched for the words "sound", "music", and "audio" and found no reference to playing music or sound between plays so I don't believe the NCAA regulates the practice. I did find an article that says the SEC relaxed their rules to allow music to be played until the QB is over the football. This must be a league mandated thing and since the Griz were playing at Liberty it would be governed by the Big South Conference regulations. Apparently they permit this practice also.

On the extremely rare occasion, the music will get played until after the team breaks the huddle. It only happens like 2 times in a season, and I cringe when it does.
