The feeling within the department is if the WG Champions Center really wows people and excites the donor base they could get more than what they think is feasible right now. If that's the case, maybe a track could be added. But that is a substantial cost addition. It would be cool though because it would allow the Griz to host the indoor championship for the first time ever.

Success begets success, just as failure begets failure.

I get the sense that the Champion's Center is really going to "elevate" the excitement of Grizzly football. I hope they allow enough public access to be able to see some of the great facilities on a regular basis; regular Open House or something. I'm sure it will be a regular stop on Campus tours. A great Public Relations tool all by itself. If the drawings are any indication, this ought to be jaw-dropping. A "buzz factor" all on its own.

People want to donate to successful programs, and to things where they can see hugely positive results from their donations, so this could be a kick-start to that next phase: an indoor practice facility.

Bozeman has one, but I understand the hay bales cause allergies, and the cows are moody, at best.

I could be wrong, but I think your typical cynicism is missing the point. You get donors who want to help the athletic department as a whole. An indoor facility would help football, soccer, softball, indoor and outdoor track and field. That would only be the case if there were enough donations procured to build a large indoor facility

An indoor facility would help football, soccer, softball, indoor and outdoor track and field. That would only be the case if there were enough donations procured to build a large indoor facility
