A rematch from our loss on the road early last month, my take is that was an off game for the LG, we've made dramatic changes. Here are our stats for the last matchup, scoring and our general contributions have much improved. This is our vengeance at home with 6th player on court....our fan base will be ready! Hopefully Dani is ready, but our bigs have shown they can meet the challenge. If they move on offense, forcing the defense to have to move, set good screens instead of standing around, making it easy on the defense, we will have a good chance. but if they're standing around on offense again like they did Thursday night, it's going to be a long afternoon. Saw some of that too, getting ball movement around the horn and to the inside Waddington cutting to the basket, bigs in the paint, throw to the open players for the corner 3's. At times observed PT guards playing only one side of the court, missing out of assists to the other side,(TMC open, throw her the ball, Lincoln also capable of nailing those too). worst yet forcing passes enabling TO's. That's easy...bah Go LG!
Ladies need to shore up their defense. NAU getting too many uncontested 3’s. Ladies need to hold their picks longer so our shooters can get set. NAU is a very good team but they’ve fallen in love with the 3. Hopefully they can’t maintain that pace for the second half. Get stops on defense and push the ball up the court. And convert those bunnies!

Down 22 ain't good--we need to make a couple runs to get back on this game and we do have some time !!!
Better just chalk this up to today the best team wins(won). But I still like how the ladies are playing.

I like our offense--D wasn't there today giving up almost 100 pts. If we are going to be competitive with NAU and MSU, the best teams in The Big Sky, our D needs to improve !!!

This is the type of game NAU likes and are very tough to beat when they get it going. Lady Griz did beat NAU last year in Flagstaff in a similar type of game. Unfortunately didn't happen this game. Tough to defend when they shoot so well both inside and outside. Many of their shots inside looked like they defended pretty well and the shot still went in.
Lady Griz are likely not going to play another team like this again unless they play NAU in the tournament.

They still have to play the Cats in Bozeman, who beat NAU twice this year.

I know. But NAU averages 9 more points per game than he Cats. But NAU has the worst defense in the league. at least that is what the stats show. I do not expect the Cats to score at will against the Lady Griz like NAU did today. But, it may be more of a defensive battle. Cats will still be favored to win 2 weeks from now.
Statistically, Lady Griz give up more points than they made. 2 point deficit. third worst defense in the league.

Wow NAU was one of the highest performing Bigsky teams I've seen play in awhile! I mean, a team that plays at 80%+ FG's and 3pts, in the 2nd Qrt? Clearly lost the scoring vibe most of the season.
Yes for sure, looked like NAU out performed with individual athletic ability, and offense play sets that they executed very well. A coach from Havre MT, some of the highline fever, I guess!
