Kid plays for the Orediggers. He is absolutely DESTROYING every team he faces. He's thrown for a TD, caught 4 TD passes, and returned both a KO and a punt for TD's so far this year. He'd be a perfect slot guy for the Griz, and I believe he has one more year of eligibility (could be wrong there).

He could have a whole slew of eligibility if we wanted to push the issue. He’s not NCAA affiliated so has used no eligibility. I’ve seen some of his highlights and he definitely looks like he could play at this level. Need to reach out

Especially O’Connell. Honestly, headhunting the top NAIA players could be a very fertile recruiting strategy. Those guys are hungry to prove themselves and haven’t used any eligibility. It’s not much different than taking Juco dudes
Peck likely getting more year(s) of eligibility?

If he wanted to he probably could. The ncaa lost their case with the Juco player which opened the door to all non ncaa affiliated players to get extra eligibility. An NAIA player could play all four years and get his bachelors degree and then get another four years of NCAA eligibility in theory. If the NCAA made a stink they could always lose another case. They’ve been doing a lot of losing lately.

I should clarify here. The extra eligibility some Juco and D2 players have been granted has come in the form of court injunctions. The basis of their cases basically hinged on their inability to capitalize on their NIL opportunities. If hunter peck wanted more eligibility after this season he could probably seek an injunction and claim similar. Whether he could get more than one year is untested, but in theory he could have an argument. I’m no lawyer though FWIW

I've been saying this for a few years now... both football AND basketball should make a habit of using this as a recruiting ground. I bet there is at least 1 guy / year we could pluck that would have an impact... there's precedence for it in hoops, too.

I'm not sure how NAIA to NCAA works....or really how anything works anymore....but I don't think he has any eligibility after this year, as I believe this is his 5th year at Tech.

I would think NAIA and Jucco players can easily challenge and get more years at an NCAA school, going to grad school after they graduate and keep on playing if they want.

At this point, the NCAA just can't win a lawsuit. The waiver was originally said to be for one year only in the 2025 season (this season), but their continued losses resulted in an injunction right now that just says all non-NCAA seasons do not count against NCAA eligibility.

As a fan, I don't love the direction all of this is going, but it makes absolutely no moral or legal sense for the NCAA to say that playing outside the NCAA should limit your ability to play inside the NCAA. It seems like a very clear anti-trust violation that will harm a young person's ability to make a living.
