let us not deify krysko

I don't think argh is negative, he just sees things in a different light then most Griz fans. True I think he purposely tries to get under the skin of the Griz fans who only see things as hunky dory but I for one always enjoy reading his posts & different view points.

Deity? Please Spare us! It pains me to read the posts who attempt to disallow any opinion which may not agree with theres. or which may be critical to something about the Griz. It is indeed a sad day when open expression of opinions is stiffled on this board.

Posters such as these have no credibility to me.

Argh, I think you make some excellent points. While I may not agree with all of them, I fully support your right to say them, and welcome your future contributions.

Davy with all due respect,

Argh is a boil on a asses ass. He is constantly negative and most of us wish he would go away.

I disagree with you and certainly wouldn't want to see him go away. Where else could I get opinions from someone other than the sheep that all scream "Krysko is GOD".

Look, a couple of posters suggested that he go away, because they disagreed with his opinion. This board seems to thrive on trying to remove any descenting opinion. I have a problem with that.

It is O.K. to disagree with someone. But to suggest that they stop posting because you dont like what they write is wrong. I will never support it, I will never agree with it.

I dont want him to go away because I disagree with his opinion. I want him to go way because he IS ALWAYS Negative.

That initial post is a huge stretch. I can see not glorifying K, but not giving him any props?

1. He brought excitement to a program that had very little. Maybe fans like you are always excited no matter what (though I doubt it), but a majority of people did not care about Griz basketball. If K did no other thing while here, I believe this act alone would be enough to give him some props.

2. He WON a tournament game. He garnered his team a #12 seed, and followed that huge accomplishment up by upsetting the #5 seeded Neveda Wolfpack.

Of course you can sit there and dwell on the negatives. There will always be negatives. If K would've won the NC last year, you would've been right here with this same exact post, no question in my mind.

Personally, I would hate to be that kind of fan, never satisfied with anything. How frustrating it must be to be constantly frustrated, with my team and my fanbase.

I understand the personal economics of his decision, and the opportunity to do what he wants to do - where he wants to do it.
Perhaps this "window of opportunity" was too compelling to pass up however, this opportunity comes at the expense of a program that trusted him (and gave him the chance) to do a particular job....a job, I contend, that is unfinished.
Remember, Krysko applied for the vacant coaching job - the UM did not court him - and his early departure, consequently, seems a bit disloyal ( though certainly understandable.)
The result of LK and Griz success the last two years undoubtedly contributed to the loss of Huse, and may prove to have occured too early in the rebuilding process.....time will tell.

Good luck to LK and family.
He at least comported himself well while he was here and left the "right way" - no sneaking off in the night with staff in tow, without a word to anyone until after the fact.

Kudos and Thanks to LK for all he did at UM. Special thanks for being upfront about his objectives and for not sneaking out in the middle of the night...

Good Luck Larry!

Go get 'em Tinks-

"disloyal"? Oh please! Was it disloyal when UM fired Holst after taking the team to the NCAA playoffs? This is a business, for both the university as well as the coach. Loyalty is for fans.

I'll concede that "disloyal" might be a bit of an excessive characterization. LK has to do what is right for LK (and his family).
I only know that if I were hired to do a job (rebuild a program) and left before it was finished, or demonstrably and undeniably, well underway (which remains to be seen) I'd have some small pangs of conscience.
From the outside, looking in, it "feels" too early and therefore, somewhat "disloyal" (yep, there's that word again.)

FWIW: I've made many trips around the sun, and I've been in similar situations. I always stayed until I was no longer needed.
This often had a short-term financial impact but when I left, I left with my integrity and self-respect intact.

I hope the program continues to improve w/o Kryko, and he is certainly in a better position than I to decide whether the foundation he laid is sustainable. I hope, when all is said and done, that he doesn't look back with some regret, over unfinished business.

If you don't understand what I'm saying, then you are just another of those employees who thinks that they are doing their employer a favor by taking their "crummy" job.

Who cares, Tinks is going to do a wonderful job for us and Coach K will always be Coach K but lets just worry about cameron Rundles and Gus Chase and the 7 footer from Australia instead of who is coachin who...

Payton, you say he is always negative. Many other posters on here are always positive, and incapable of many a single critical remark about Grizzly athletics. So, does them make them good posters?

I think your point is ridiculous as justification for argh going away. How interesting would this board be if nobody ever made a negative remark?

This isn't grade school here. :drinking:

Your right this is not grade school so quit it.

My point is that Certain posters do nothing but complain about Griz athletics as if they know best. I have been around the Griz for 30 years and have seen them be terrible. What UM has right now COULD NEVER BE BETTER.

Hall of fame Women's coach
725 Winning % Football coach
Men's Basketball on the upswing.

And even the "lesser" known sports are solid.

So why is it that those posters are all negative, my guess is the have a bad life and only find relief in putting others down.

I don't care if people have different opinions, just bring something to the table. Just being negative to be negative does No one any good.

Off Topic...

To my knowledge the only people that have been banned from this site were removed for the following reasons:
1. libelous stmts.,
2. bodily threats/personal attacks.

No one has been removed for being a neggie or a sugar coater!

Just because someone makes the stmt that a certain poster needs to be removed from the board doesn't mean it is going to happen!

Neggie or sprinkle on dudes!

How many Griz coaches have won a game in the NCAA Tourney? How many coaches took the team to the tourney two years in a row?
How many were able to do it their first two years?

Krysko may not be god, but he brought the mens basketball program back from the dead, and did it pretty fast too.

Coach K had Montana basketball close to becoming a very good national caliber team. I'm confident that the momentum will continue as we look forward to competing in the WAC, hopefully, in the next two or three years.
