With that last Idaho pick that got down to the 1 yard line, they should have let him walk in. That would have preserved all that extra time. Lets face it, a team at the 1 will either run the time down or score almost all of the time, unless they are the Seattle Seahawks.

I don't know the time left, as I wasn't communicating with the planet at that moment, but any extra time would allow them some kind of scenario... Throwing deep for a score, then???

While I agree with you, in the end it didn’t really matter any way cause we failed to convert the onside kick. That’s the only scenario where the clock would’ve made any difference potentially in the outcome.

I disagree. If they are allowed to score immediately, there would have been FOUR minutes on the clock. We wouldn’t have needed to resort to an onside kick. Could have used our timeouts on defense (assuming we could stop them). Instead, we used them in shitty situations and scored with just 30 seconds to go, and then couldn’t cover an onside kick that was ours for the taking. Because we HAD to onside kick it since we only had one timeout left.

My buddy and I said the same thing when they got the Pick... Let them score. A nice lady behind us said "fuck you Cat fan... We don't just let people score in our house". So I stopped saying words.

Not sure you let them score but the final drive you must try to score fast enough to have a chance after any possible onside recovery....not dink and dunk to make the margin of loss less and run out of time. Rosy called the last offensive series like they were only one score down.

I considered that same thinking and it probably would have been the Griz' best chance to let them score instantly save the 3 time-outs and have 4 full minutes down 2 TDS. I could have lived with that decision. What was unacceptable was letting Idaho use the clock (and eventually score a TD) and not use time-outs.

Yes dink and dunk while the clock runs down. Not unlike his calls for a 2 yard pass to a covered receiver on 3rd and 8. Often, another 3 and out.

I agree. My 25 year old son, who played a bit of college football, said that immediately. He said it was already a 2-score game, and Idaho would kick a FG and make 2 TD's necessary, even if the Griz held. UM was reasonable close on the onside kick.

I understand how a college coach doesn't want to just give up a TD. This would have been a perfect time to do it, tho.

Right at the end of the game and the D could have let them score and get the ball back with a little bit of time. Instead they tried to stop them on a few runs. The offense fumbled at the 1!!! I could see that happening only if the coach of the team on defense was gifted a timeout well after the snap on a game-winning TD run.

And then the coach of the team on offense ran the EXACT SAME PLAY a second time.

That’s about the only crazy scenario where that could happen.
