Let’s Re-seed the Remaining Teams

I guess I don't see what I would have to cope about? It's not that deep.

I don't blame you for being excited/confident either. You guys have a very good team and Loud definitely makes you better.

I have to say, this is such a cool and at the same time, awful, experience. I'm not going to pretend I like the Griz, or anything like that. In general, I don't cheer for UM. I love the rivalry. I love your fans (for the most part). I greatly respect the program, and shocker, I even really like Bobby! I think he's hilarious tbh. I think we're both part of what makes college football great. At the same time, for both sides, losing to the other team more than sucks. Now we have it where both teams are legitimately amongst the best in the nation, they play differently, and yet they're both pretty equal at the end of the day. Whoever loses the rematch, if we both make it, it's going to hurt a hell of a lot more than if it were to anybody else, and I really do hate that. Both teams should garner a lot of respect from the fanbases, and I know that a lot of my Cat brethren won't do it, but do know there's a lot like me too. I know I'm rambling, but long story short, I love that we're both two of the top teams in the nation, and I hate it too. Hope you guys win, and we win, and we meet in Bozeman for 2.0.
This is an outstanding post.

I don't buy for a minute that the scats want a rematch. If we both win this weekend, it's going to happen, but no one from that side can tell me anything to make me believe they want to play that game again.

It was a hypothetical post though so there should be any need to get upset or act like anyone on this side was flexing, which goes back to my point that they don't want to play that game again.

I mean, do I really want to have to play one of the best teams in the nation again? Not particularily.

Am I concerned about MSU's ability to beat UM? Also, not really. Like I said, both teams are very good and more than capable of winning the whole title.

Not saying that I don't think the championship game will be a good game, but with the 1 seed watching at home, that semifinal is going to be the championship. Tarleton has a good QB, but they are suspecting in too many areas, Davis could, and IMO should, handle them. That all starts to unravel itself starting this Friday night.

They don't.

Honestly, neither do I. Of course, that's due in large part to us hosting should they lose. But also because they're good, and that's just a hell of a lot of stress on everyone

I feel like I'm probably underrating Tarleton just because I don't know them as well, but I'm right there with you. If the semi's ends up being Cat-Griz 2.0, then that's the title game imo. On the bright side, having the title game in Montana is pretty damn cool!

Didn't want to start a new thread so I will post this info here:

Sagarin FCS Ratings, Playoff Edition, after 12/6/2025

38 NDSU, down 5
54 Montana State, down 7
72 Montana, up 7
73 Tarleton State, up 7
93 North Dakota, down 6
96 South Dakota, up 22
97 SDSU, down 2
100 Villanova, up 3
101 Stephen F Austin, down 1
102 Illinois State, up 7
105 UC Davis, up 10

Sagarin Predictions (preceding number is seed, prediction includes homefield advantage of 3.19)

2 Montana State (-14.16) vs 7 Stephen F Austin
3 Montana (-8.8) vs 11 South Dakota
4 Tarleton State (-9.19) vs 12 Villanova
8 UC Davis (-2.43) vs Illinois State

It isn't unexpected that NDSU only dropped five for a loss. Sagarin is based on performance vs expected point differential. They lost by one. Cats fell seven while winning because they were expected to win by a ton.

How hilarious is it if this is what it takes to "heal" the rivalry. :ROFLMAO: I friggin hate it!

No way.

If this game happens, whoever wins is never going to let the loser live it down.

I am also very torn. This game would ruin my mental health, but the prospect of getting revenge sounds too good. And without NDSU still in it, the winner would be the heavy favorite to win it all and have no excuses for not getting it done.

This is the weakness of computer rankings. There's no way for computer to know that when fully healthy, as they nearly were Saturday, that SDSU isn't on par with the top fcs programs. UM should have moved up about 20 points that win.

Agreed. And NDSU isn’t better than all but 37 FBS teams lmao
