our ex-point guard has turned into quite the recruiter. a year ago he joined george pfeifer's staff at idaho, one of the toughest places anywhere to woo kids, and has proceeded to nab a three-star high-school player who was heavily recruited by iowa state, together with two other big kids that were wanted by the likes of u.n.l.v., washington state and colorado. this for a program that was recruiting at the level of trevor morris of missoula. mr. washington is yet another of the legion of ex-griz making their mark in the coaching profession, and one we might want to keep our eye on as a future head coach.

whoops. idaho's three-star recruit asked for a release from his commitment, and idaho gave it to him. he may wind up joining a high school teammate at iowa state after all.

sorry, leroy. no head coaching job here for you.

City,

LeRoy coaching isn't exactly news. He has been at many schools in his nearly 20 years as an assistant. He is a great guy, but for some reason doesn't get head coaching oportunities.

Leroy has a great personality and is a very positive person. I can imagine that he is a very good recruiter even though Idaho lost this particualr recruit. I have a lot of fun stories and memories of Leroy during his time here and enjoy following teams that he is involved with.

BTW Idaho lost that recruit, because the assistant that recruited him moved on to Colorado State, it was not Leroy... Although Leroy is an excellent assistant coach.

Idaho is lucky they didn't lose all 3 kids the assistant that went to CSU recruited.

I read something somewhere about Idaho having one of the top 30 recruiting classes in the country as of right now. Pretty good, if its true, Leroy must be doing something right......
