Viking fan pointed out how fast Griz linebackers are. Obvious to Griz fans, but made an impression on me that a more casual fan can see this obvious fact. For the most part PSU fans around me were into beer, visiting restrooms often, and knew very little specifics about their team.
I don’t think Montana fans take this observation for granted, but looking at season stats so far nine games in, this is their combined totals ( Olson, Lewis, and O’Connell/Rice combo)
They get almost 30 tackles, about two tackles for loss, and a sack per game, they have a int, three fumble recoveries, and pass break ups in total season stats.
Definite strength of the team, consistent production and just wanted to give a shoutout for a job well done.

Hell, OREGON fans were impressed with how fast our LB’s were. They were astounded (and more than a little pissed) when I let them know #33 was from their back yard....lol

Human trait to see flaws or weaknesses. Nice to have experiences of others that help us recognize how fortunate we are to have such assets across the entire roster.
After reading so many negative posts, mostly pointed at forum participants I get reluctant to even look at e-griz...then reality kicks in and I find the humor in the e-griz family atmosphere, even the little brothers to the east that pipe up.
The Griz rise this year is bigger than one group that others notice even special team players are having a positive impact on how well they block and tackle.
Griz fans care and are vested in the product program fields each week. Hope to hear from others who have experienced a tidbit they would like to share.
Personally I’m trying to stay positive after years of late season flops, hope there are some posts to get me pumped up and give some due credit to the coaches and players.

I don't think there is a team with 2 LBs as good as ours. They are both top 5 in FCS in my opinion. Dante gets the glory and for good reason, but Lewis is damn good. I took some time to go through some cut ups and I think both would start at any Pac 12 school. Feel free to try and change my mind, but I'm pretty confident in that.

We've definitely been spoiled by all the talent we've had at that position for what seems like the last decade plus.

Another big game for the LBers. A little twist on formation that was having success was moving Rice to middle linebacker position and Lewis and Olson were outside LBers.
Gave great flexibility for stuffing the middle and Lewis and Olson were wider for covering swing passes and edges.
Love watching all the blitz games and twists with front six.

The cool thing is having the depth of talent that allows for flexibility. Scheme to neutralize Dante as middle linebacker and then he plays outside left. A great defensive play is made and when the name is announced you don't recognize it. So much solid talent getting game-time experience. Its a real tribute to the ability to recruit by Hauck and staff.
