Latest Bracketology

Obviously these mock brackets are changing by the second it seems, but the latest one has Montana playing Michigan. Personally I think that would be an awesome match up between their stellar point guard and Will. They are very athletic as are we. They have a couple guys who bang on the inside, so that could be a problem for us. But if Will is back and our guards can control the tempo you never know!

I also saw an article that KJ is starting to pop up some NBA teams radar.

Here is the current bracket as projected by Joe Lunardi

I don't follow the bracketology a whole lot, just wait until the brackets are announced before filling out my own for the pools that I do every year. But I'm wondering if anyone takes the time to follow Lundardi closely and see how accurate his predictions turn out to be.

His predictions are fairly off usually regarding the mid major teams until he starts making updated predictions the day of the selection show.

you are being too kind to Lunardi when he talks about the mid majors. he is almost as bad as the knucklehead Palm on cbs

I agree. Lunardi should just put mid-major 1 and mid-major 2 in the lines as he has no idea who has done what. He had Montana a 16 the entire time last year and they got a 14.

I find it funny though how he'll have a team like the Griz as a 16 the entire time, then the day of the selection show all of a sudden he'll predict a 14 and be right. Pretty sure he gets a load of inside information before the selection show so he can make much more accurate predictions and look like the "expert" on both major and mid-major seeds.

I think you guys are misinterpreting what Lunardi does. His bracketology is not a predictive model. It's a snapshot. He asks the question, if the season ended today, how would we seed teams? He is not asking, how do I think the regular season will play out? In that sense, it's only really interesting to bubble teams who want to know where they're at, not mid-majors.

Right now we're a 15 seed with an RPI of 93. It's hard to argue our profile is better than Stephen F Austin, S. Dakota St., Stony Brook or Valpo, all current 14 seeds, so I don't think there is much to complain about.

Right now RPI forecast is predicting us to have an RPI in the 60s if we win out. So odds are, with some predicted 13s and 14s losing in their tourneys, if we win out, we'll get at least a 14.

.

So why doesn't Lunardi put as much thought into his analysis as you just did? He gets paid to break it down

like our chances versus the Lobos better than the Wolverines! Still lacking reliable play and DEPTH underneath will challenge us as it has all season.
