Last Season's Offense

It is all about the silly green baseball cap that Stitt is fond of putting on his head. Some of us low down Griz fans are planning a "cap meeting" in the near future to determine if that damn green cap is the reason for our crazy offensive output last season. I will report our conclusion to Stitt and Egriz fans.
Questions abound...
Is coach Stitt a climate changing green guy?
Is our coach into "green politics"?
Does Stitt ride a bike to every practice?
Is Stitt following Korean/Jap/China pitchers?
Once these questions are solved our offensive situation will be just fine!

An interesting juxtaposition with Stitt having expressed a fondness for the buffet @ Cesar's Palace. Not much about green there. Except for the money. About time for Rome to call him up and get @ these important questions. Out...

Oriental?? :?

Sometimes when a Korean or Japanese pitcher is brought over and the first year they dominate when their pitching style is brand new and their tendencies unknown, but after a year they become pedestrian. Chan Ho Park. Nomo. That was my attempt at a comparison. Basically I was wondering if the offense becomes a great offense or it doesn't. We're all just guessing until we see the product in games next year.

Oh, I understood the point you were trying to make. I just wondered about the use of a term considered racially offensive, and which is used to describe items (like rugs), not people.

What's sad is there are actually Griz fans who truly don't understand why he wears the green hat. "Why is he wearing the other team's colored hat? Why isn't he wearing a maroon hat? He's making it easy for the opponents to tell what plays he's going to call!"

lmao.

Ok. As a fairly PC person I did not realize oriental was offensive. What is the proper term? I suppose Asian would have worked.

Game by Game Breakdown:

vs Cal Poly:
1st Half - 14
2nd Half - 5

@ Liberty:
1st Half - 12
2nd Half - 9

vs NAU:
1st Half - 16
2nd Half - 7

etc.
In general, stats like that, so consistent against every conference opponent, game after game, do not point to talent deficiencies, those are coaching issues. Call it a "learning season." This isn't the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Stitt is an oriental pitcher in mlb? But that aside, I also recall some games where the foot was taken off the pedal too early. There was also some poor play at times in second half action. It all factors together.
The Idaho State game was classic. First half 21, second half 6. We led by a substantial margin in the first half, and Stitt admitted he went into the second half wanting to "preserve the lead" and didn't want Makena to keep running the ball so successfully (121 yds, nearly twice the yardage in a single game as Brady ran all season), but also wanted to run up the play count for some reason (99 plays).

The "taking the foot off the pedal" strategy was, frankly, something I did not expect from Stitt, rather expecting the opposite.

Quote: "You have to throw the ball sometime" and that strategy in the second half, combined with rushing the play count -- a completely unnecessary change of a successful playbook -- lost the game. Fortunately, ISU then won it for us and we avoided a season crushing ending to a bottom ranked team entirely because the coach wanted it his way in the second half --- and d*** near got it.

You insensitive prick! List by nationality. How would you like to be called a "North American"? See how it feels!? :D

I wonder if not wanting to run Simis so much in second half had anything to do with not wanting to get the third string QB hurt????

I guess Stitt didn't think to say it for some reason .... true, the first two QBs didn't get hurt doing "running" games but, you know, why take a chance with a guy that can run?

Dense about the green cap? The reason I brough it up is easy. Our offense did well in the first half. But because the other team watched the green cap and swiped the plays he was sending in, by halftime they knew every play we were making. Smart adjusting by our oponents. That is the only reasonable explaination for our crapy second half out put.
That green cap must be replaced by another color! Especially after the first half. Bingo! Problem solved.

"Asian" might be a better choice of word Allez. "Oriental" is like a rug...or something Archie Bunker would say.
