MBBALL Lamar Game Thread

This teams Basketball IQ is crazy low...not a good combo when you also aren't skilled aka can't shoot and when your athleticism is BigSky quality aka Lamar from Southland is clearly in a different tier of athleticism.
 
Well that was awful. Fitting for the weekend I guess. Got absolutely dominated on the glass. Never seen a team get so many offensive rebounds off of missed free throws. Boggles my mind why Sawyer hardly played in the second half. Two games in a row where it’s taken Money way too long to get going. Lamar is a scrappy team but this should’ve been a win. Just like Football yesterday, they failed to execute.we got up by 5 with two minutes remaining and then Lamar went on a 12-2 run. Gotta slam the door shut and not let them back in it.

We could have won and also should have won based on where things were at in the last 3min...but also should have lost Lamar way more athletic consitently generating high percentage shots which they missed a ton of. I they shot better would have got blow out.
 
That's a team this GRIZ should have never lost to. GRIZ lost the hustle and heart parts of the game. Too many lost balls and not boxing out. Anderson and Dick were the only players who played at or above average.

I beg, Travis please see what Betts can do with 10+ minutes of playing time!

In the post game, DeCuire said they used their last timeout setting up a play from the sideline (since Money had just crossed halfcourt before the timeout). However, the refs incorrectly put the ball at the baseline which meant they couldn't run the play they had set up so they had to just run a normal baseline inbounds play because they didn't have a timeout or way to officially challenge the position.
 
Also, maybe I'm paranoid and I know our scheduling is already difficult but can we stop scheduling the little bro/red headed step child programs right after taking on their in-state bonafides?

Of course, Lamar is going to have extra motivation to beat the Griz after the Griz almost pulled the upset against Texas A&M. It's like how playing EWU right after the UW upset in football was the perfect trap game and worst possible opponent at that time.

It's easy for our own guys to not respect the little bro while also giving an opportunity for bragging rights to the little bro over the bonafides.
 
I think the Griz just mailed (emailed) this game in. Maybe they were reading their press clippings and did not take Lamar seriously.? Anyway the results were not good. Give Lamar credit, they came to play and the Griz stayed in the locker room. I would imagine Travis had them shooting free throws after the game. Very poor performance.
