Is caleb a full scollie kid? Does he have offers elsewhere?
Caleb is coming in as a preferred walk-on. He did have offers from Weber, CWU, MT Tech and a few others. WSU wanted him to walk-on.

Hmmmm, if Wazzu wanted him to walk-on, then the Griz are truly in the Caleb zone. Forgoing in-state tuition at WSU, a 3 hour car drive to reach home, Pac-12 competition and recognition to attend U of Montana, as I noted before: the Griz are getting a steal with Caleb Lyons.

So, has he verballed or not?

I heard that U of Montana isn't offering him a scholarship ... not even a partial one. :? I hope The Griz don't get backdoored by a program steppin' up with the dollars.

As I stated earlier he has already had other offers including 2 full ride offers. He is coming here as a preferred walk-on because wants to be a GRIZ.

You mean to imply that if a Pac-12, MWC or FBS university got out the checkbook, Caleb's parents would advise him to turn down a $70+K athletic scholarship just to walk on Montana. After the recruiting bungles of Sammie Long ('13) and Ma'ne Manaea ('12), Lakes' parents have learned the money game of athlete recruiting and college football.

Don't get me wrong, I'm elated that Caleb wants to play at Montana and I'm excited about the defense, especially the development of Van Ackeren, Russell and Lyons; however, I know that recruits aren't locked in 'til they're locked down.

That's not going to happen. However, IF, UW came coming with an open check book I am sure he would go there. And I would want him too. Your post implied ANY school, I was just reiterating that he had already had offers and turned them down to play here. Also I will say that those recruiting bungles had a lot to do with parents not listening to Dave Miller and believing too much of there own press.

Okay, we're in agreement; Caleb goes to U of Dub if he gets the scholly ... lol. :D Me, being a Wazzu Coug, I'm not sure I want Caleb @ U Double Bubba. ;) All right, U of Montana it is. 8-)

Welcome to the family. I'd note "Once A Griz, Always A Griz," but somehow it doesn't seem right. 8-)

No Dylan is not Drews little brother. Dylan is my son and Caleb and him have been best friends since they were 10. They both played for Lakes and while I personally believe Dylan is good enough to play for the GRIZ, he had to hang up the cleats due to health reasons.
