Lady Griz vs Vikings

Does this Portland State team worry anyone besides me? Man, I do NOT want a repeat of last year in the BSC tourny.
 
The game means little. However, the worst news is that Mandy hurt her ankle and only played 6 minutes. If she can't go in the tournament, that will be huge.

The Griz have cut the lead to 9, but there are only 51 seconds left.
 
Lady Griz lost 72 - 62. turned on the radio to check out the score and Lady Griz down by 71 - 53. So, the girls didn't lay down and give it up.

Selvig said the girls didn't seemed to have the same enthusiasm. Of course, Mandy out hurt. Hope she is back next week and close to 100%.
 
I am not worried about it. The LG really didn't have anything to play for. The LG will be much more coachable in practice after a loss like this. I am looking forward to the rematch. Mandy will be fine.
 
LG are really not a great team - good enough to win the BSC, but I will be surprised if they win the tourney to go to the NCAA. That's not a knock on Selvig or the ladies, they just are a little better than the rest of the BSC, but not an elite team.

as far as the loss and nothing to play for, PSU men had nothing to play for last Saturday, and beat UM by 52. It always reminds me of the old United commercial where the coach is ripping the football team, and a player says 'But coach, aren't we winning by 20" and the coach replies "you see there, that's what I am talking about, that's what loses games" or something like that. Selvig is a great coach, but i don't look for this years team to do much.

I think that this is a very strong lady griz team. I think what we are seeing in the big sky the last 5 years is what title IX intended all along. More opportunities for more ladies to participate in extra ciricular activities. This means more great players coming out of high school. The lady griz can't get all of them. We only have 12 scholarships. Top to bottom, the big sky gets stronger every year.
