The last minute of regulation was just awful. I think we were up 7 with 1:03 remaining. We kept letting them get open looks from 3 which they were hitting and then when we would inbound the ball we would just stand there and wait to be double teamed and turn it over. And I have no frickin idea why we did not foul in the back court after Gfeller made her free throw with 13 seconds left and up by three. Instead we let the NC player dribble all the way up the court and bank in a 3 to send us to overtime!!
Also, not to pick on her but Abby needs to not take her self out of the game with fouls. I know the 5th foul was ticky tack but the first 4 were not good fouls at all. She had an over the back where she had no chance for the rebound and a bad reach in foul that made her sit most of the first half. Then in the second half got caught in the air on a pump fake for her 3rd and the 4th was a moving pick that looked like she was pass blocking for the football team.
OK, enough venting.
Yup, camp disappointment here too! Can't have the turnovers in the last part of the game, over and back on inbounds, 5 sec getting ball in, Frohlich was under basket, could have put it up for a possible foul, instead threw it away (4-TO's), defense errors-Sofie got faked out of her shoes to permit UNC's best shooter to convert, poor shooting, turns it over with one hand passes. Keller & Nelson very poor shooting...we handed to them. Get the fire back!!
