Lady Griz/Vandy Game thread.

LG need to penetrate on O. Everyone is standing around waiting for someone to do something. Then the shot clock makes it desparation time.
 
Hasn't Selvig's teams always been one and done? I heard him making excuses in the pre game radio show before the game even started. He was expecting to lose.
 
I wonder how many points in the paint the LG got in the first half? Seemed like maybe under 10. Seemed like we totally abandoned the entry pass or the entry dribble.

This is why we are lucky to get 13 seed. Pitifull.

Selvig may have overstayed his limit. We need a better coach to reach the next level. O/W, another 30 years of 20 win seasons that mean nothing.
 
You can forget all the breast thumping about winning the BSC. The NCAA is the real world. It's well - embarrassing.
 
So now O'Day is supposed to fire Hauck, Tinkle and Selvig????????

Unbelievable. We now officially have some the most spoiled, unrealistic fans in the nation. I don't think anyone else is even close.

I believe we have several NCAA wins...But I think we were all expecting to lose-and that's not a shot at the LG, this is just a far different level of play than we play...
 
Even though this game was guaranteed coverage to the end, the network bosses had seen enough at the half. Embarrasing.

Pretty funny, none of them should be moving without it being their call, imho...and "yes" we have the most spoiled fans in the nation. But, I'm ok with that too. If you don't play to win, why play at all?

My thoughts exactly!! They made the tournament. How many teams have never made it. I'm happy they are keeping it this close. Yes they are playing bad they are playing right now instead of watching.
 
Actually grizpack, all of the aforementioned coaches are just fine - unless they have to play much of anybody outside of our cozy little Big Sky Conference. Generally speaking, UM has neither the talent nor the athleticism to compete OOC.

Lady Griz won 6 NCAA tournaments. 1995 was the last one. Came within 2 points of winning in 1997.

But, women's basketball has grown leaps and bounds since 1995. The NBA created the WNBA. Now, that brought out many more women basketball players and most of them went to the more powerful schools from the best conferences leaving the Big Sky Conference and Lady Griz in the dust. When there is a professional league out their, it just adds more incentive for a lot players to continue playing after high school.
 
I figured the only chance the Ladies had was to shoot lights out from 3, but Vandy is not allowing them to shoot from 3. The LG, along with every Big Sky team, can not match up inside with the likes of Vandy. If the Ladies can light it up from 3, and quit handing the ball to Vandy, they have a shot at keeping it respectable, if not, it could be a 40 point loss. Selvig knew what the girls were up against, and did not give me the opinion that he already gave up on winning, but stating that the girls would have to play a perfect game.
 
Nice of the annoucers to say that we don't have one kid that could start for Vanderbilt, even if it may be true.
 
The ESPN announcers say Montana wouldn't have one player that would start at Vanderbilt. Not even Morales. She would be a bench player.
 
Have they came back yet? I'm now out of state... BOOO HISSS!!! and I'm not getting the feed and refuse to pay 75 bucks for the dish feed, that's just ridiculous. Anyhow doesn't sound like they are doing all that great, hopefully Robin will fire them up and they'll come out better in the second half. Go Lady Griz!!!
