LadyGriz Lady Griz v Washington Huskies

Brian has been saying this is a really good group that just hasn't had a chance to practice as a whole squad. Zingaro and Pirog both did great against UW's seasoned bigs. If this is a sign of whats to come with some full squad consistent injury free practice then this could be a very good year. Stat that jumps out to me,,,Our bench outscored theirs 29-12. Also, loved Lincoln's strong, every game improving effort. She is going to be a handful for other teams to deal with as she gets more comfortable. She looks closer to 6'2". Post her up against smaller guards all day.

For comparison, Washington beat EWU 83 - 59 Thursday. Can be an indicator of where the two teams are at this point of the season. But, today's game was Washington's first and only true road game in non-conference this year.

Hopefully the Lady Griz just set the tone for the entire week. The men have Utah State tomorrow, the cat-Griz Volleyball Friday night, and then we all know what Saturday is! Go Griz!

This team and game this afternoon bears no resemblance to the game last week. Whatever transpired between our last game and this one, borders om magic. I'm guessing a very concentrated practice and teambuilding week happened. Really great to see our multi talents flow, Mack Attack happened, our bigs showed up, rebounds, smart passes, assists, shoot selection...all happened! Wowza...keep the fire LG!!

Absolutely awesome game. I had planned to watch at 2 p.m., but got sucked into other things. I started the recording while cooking supper without knowing the outcome, then called my wife downstairs to see the second half. It was one of those 'drop whatever you're doing and come watch history being made' moments.
