Lady Griz top the Vandals

Enjoyable game to watch (Pluto worked better than usual for me.) Idaho, #14 in particular, is a good 3-point shooting team; great effort by the Lady Griz.

I covered a lot of Lady Griz hoops games during my 10+ years at the Missoulian (80s -- early 90s), and Jace Henderson's Vandal-izing game this afternoon is one for the Montana archives. I'll qualify that slightly by saying games by a post player. Yes, I know... but you shoulda seen it!

Attached is the shot that gave Montana the lead for good in the Griz 82-79 win. Watch the body language of the Idaho guard on the left after the bucket.

Fatkin is going to be an all time great Lady GRIZ. Love her shot and overall game.
Henderson is a beast with her strength. I'd like to see her be on Titan Games after her GRIZ career is over.

I don't watch a lot of LG games, being they usually conflict conference games with the men. I love the young talent on this team. They are very capable of getting to the NCAA Tournament. Realistically, I think they are a year away though.

Taking Jace Henderson's all-star, 31 point game one step farther in Montana's 82-79 win over Idaho... Shaun Rainey of ABCFoxMontana spliced-together a chronology of Henderson's game last night. Great action sequence, well worth watching. What it doesn't show is how Henderson waged battle against three tough opponents in Mikayla Ferenz, Lizzy Klinker and Natalie Klinker (from Fairfield H. S.). Both Klinkers fouled out and Ferenz had four in the paint war. Idaho is NOT the most physical Big Sky team (Portland State, EWU AND Northern Colorado get the nod) Montana has played. But Jace is, as mentioned in this thread, very strong. No one pushes her around. The video clips show that. But what is so impressive about Jace's performance is how she has progressed in four years. Rainey called this an instructional video. I agree. Hope this gets submitted to the Big Sky as material for a Player of the Week nod to Jace.

Every time I watch Jace play it still amazes me that she originally came here as a volleyball player. The improvement she's shown over the past few years on the hardwood is incredible.
