Lady Griz thread

NAU over ISU in wbb 70 - 62 & NCU behind by only one point to Weber St. @ the half, 26 - 27. And that's about all I've been able to get.
 
If Mandy did a little better in rebounding she would have had a triple double. 19 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Sonya fouled out of the game for the first time in her career, although it took 34 minutes to do it. She is only the second Lady Griz player to foul out of a game this year. She did score her average of 11 points, and made the only 3 pointer for the Lady Griz.

Lady Griz shot 1 for 15 from 3 point line.

Despite the sucky 3 pt shooting, Lady Griz still won big by 77 - 57.

They either screwed up the official stats or Sonya fouled out on a double foul since she scored the last 2 points for Montana with 2 free throws and a couple seconds on the game clock. Were you watching on bigsky or listening?

Listening to the game on radio at the end. I really didn't hear the radio guy say she fouled out because the game was over for all practical purposes, but Sonya did leave the game sometime right after she hit those two free throws and the stats showed her with 5 fouls right after she went out. She left the game with 3 seconds left in the game, replaced by Laura Cote. It may have been a double foul. The play by play in the stats on www.montanagrizzlies.com kind of has foul by Sonya with 3 seconds at same time PSU player Arns was called for a foul, which game Sonya two Freethrows which she made.

Anyway, I think this is the first game this year Sonya even committed more than 3 fouls, which kind of surprises me that she fouled out. She rarely commits very many fouls. But, it is kind of surprising that she even was in the game for 34 minutes with such a large lead. Mandy only had 30 minutes. Lauren Beck certainly could have used more playing time.

PSU plays a very aggressive style and sometimes players get sucked into that and pick up a couple cheap fouls. Plus on the road you always seem to get a couple head scratchers. Sonya is a great little player though, lots of fun to watch her.
 
I just got home; my son has indoor baseball practice on Thursdays. Dang, on the way home, I was figuring that the men had won handily and was worried that the Lady Griz might have been upset. Turns out I was 180 degrees wrong. Glad to hear about the LG, but I'm bummed about the men.
