Lady Griz Season Over - No WNIT Bid

The Lady Griz failed to get a WNIT bid. Sorry to see their season and Katy Edwards' career come to an end.

I was just on my way here to ask this very question. What a bummer I think they should have been.

I guess a 21-7 team with a hard schedule isn't quite enough for those WNIT people. I'm sure the Lady Griz will be back in the postseason soon enough. I'll say this: the Lady Griz had a good season. Katie Edwards was one hell of a competitor, a great person, and a great player. She'll do well with whatever she does in her life. I won't miss her when Cat-Griz rolls around next year. The Lady Griz have a very bright future.

Congrats to the ladies on a good year. I think next year's team should be more polished and hopefully as these underclassmen gain more experience they'll play on a much more consistent basis.

This snub is ridiculous. The Lady Griz deserved better. This is a good team that played a difficult schedule, and they are one of the most respected -- if not THE most well-respected -- mid-major programs in the country. They carry some chache' and to get left out of the NIT is a joke.

If ISU had won the tournament I think the LG may have gotten in. I have seen 2 BSC women's team make post season play, but never 3 teams. When ISU lost I think they were assured a spot being regular season champs. The LG have a great nucleus returning and will be right in the mix next season as well.
