LadyGriz Lady Griz - NAU

Shooting only 31% with 15 turnovers, it's a wonder the Lady Griz are only down 32-21 at the half.

You play like you practice, 20 turn overs, cant make a layup or for that matter a basket, my guess is there is a lot of talking and very little scrimmage at practice?

We can't stay in front of them on defense, and our offense is looking worse every week. Big Sky Breakdown mentioned player development. Last year Konig was 24 points 7 ast. Feldman 4 pts, 2 ast. Fast Forward a year, Konig 7pts 3at; Feldman 24pts 3ast. I get that Konig is in a bit of a slump, but it looks like her teammates aren't sure what they are suppose to do aside from stand at the 3 point line and wait. Frustrating to watch given how much talent is on this team. I often wonder what Seton at Idaho State could do with this group.

I have mentioned in several other posts that something is terribly wrong with this team. Not sure what it is but the offense all of a sudden is almost totally lost and showing little or no confidence. It almost has to go back to coaching and leadership. Has Brian lost the locker room--it almost appears that is the case or maybe there is lots of friction between the younger and older players. Who knows but this is heading towards a lost season which is too bad since there is lots of talent on this team

Up against a powerful team at home. NAU 11-4, fast aggressive, offense/defense. Our shots not going in, turnovers mid 20’s, that NAU converted to 10pts. Mac-attack, I’m guessing flustered.

Ya ,that's an interesting set up, posting around the horn at the 3-line. And when they either run plays off the high post, or screens out there, defense keys in on opportunities to steal some of those weak looking passes around the horn, and down the key. They also commit to running plays, screen/ roll, or shot opportunities on one side of the court, while a player and good shooter stands by herself wide open off baseline at the 3. They give me the impression of a team wanting to run designer plays, for the sake of executing that play, whether it pays off, or not. Throw the ball to the open unguarded player, especially posted up at the 3 line...????

Good point, each game there are high turnovers, does that get worked out in practice? Weak looking passing easy picked, for conversion and those loopy ones to a low post player, are not working! Shooting is just bad, and the funny thing is we have some great shooters...that's mystery, is that a practice objective?

Hmmm... Designer plays. That's a good way to describe an offense that's unaware (or ignorant) of the defense it faces.
