Lady Griz maintain winning ways

Lady Griz beat NAU 87 - 58.

Rogers and Ena lead the Lady Griz with 13 points each.
Cote had 12 points.
Conway and Clossen had 11 points each.
That totals 5 players in double figures.
But, Ena, a true Freshman, is the real interesting story here scoring 13 points co-leading the team. Rogers played 31 minutes to get her 13 points. Reverse Rogers minutes and that is what Ena played, 13 minutes. Both Rogers and Ena made 5 freethrows each. Ena did miss a freethrow. but, I will forgive her for that.

Lady Griz made 15 - 17 freethrows. Sure wish the Griz men can shoot like that at the line as they would have a record similar to the Lady Griz if they did.

Rogers made 2 of 3 three points field goals. Should maintain a top 4 ranking 3 pt field goal percentage. Rogers also lead the team in rebounding (that is a first). Most of Rogers rebounds were on the offensive end. Well, she tied Lohman and Beck for rebounding lead. So, not only was there balanced scoring, there was balanced rebounding. Lady Griz outrebounded NAU 41 - 29.

Lady Griz are alone at the top, and appear to be on their way to peaking at the right time.

Sweep the upcoming home games will not clinch the division, but it will certainly make things much, much, much more easier.

Glad to hear!!! Was really sweating this one out since NAU had just upended MSU a game earlier, in OT I believe.

Couldn't see the game so had to settle for second best by watching Randy Newman getting ahead of #88, #20 and #18 for his best finish, even better than, since 2000.

Sorry, meant to say Ryan Newman.

This victory was very sweet considering how NAU ruined the Lady Griz season the last three years including last years devastating loss in semifinals in Missoula. Hopefully they are successfully buried.

A good win for the Ladies today, congrats! Lets look ahead at the women's side of the Big Sky, current standings:

UM 9-2
ISU 8-3
PSU 8-4
MSU 7-4
UNC 5-5
WSU 5-6
NAU 4-7
CSUS 4-8
EWU 1-11

Looks like EWU's really the only team out of the tourney for sure.

Lady Griz have a rough final stretch fortunatley possibly the two toughest are this coming week at home against ISU and Weber. That ISU game is going to be huge. After that they've got 3 road games to finish the season @ UNC, @ EWU and @ PSU.

Hopefully there's strong fan turnout this week for the Lady Griz games.

Just a little bit of interesting information (or maybe not):

Each time PSU played ISU or Lady Griz, they have lost the next game they played. PSU is playing Lady Griz last game of the season. If the past predicts the future, PSU will lose their first game in the Big Sky Tournament.
