Lady Griz Lose to UNC by about 8

It was a very good and fun game. UNC is pretty good, big and deep, altho I see that the Cats killed them a few days ago. The LG are much better than when I saw them early in the season. 9 deep rotation. Stockholm had 20 in the first half, but only 2 after that.

LG didn't shoot well enough (30%), and UNC defended fairly well. Kept fighting and fighting back. Probably had a dozen or more opportunities in the game to make easy buckets or plays, or make more plays, but just couldn't make them.

You could clearly tell how much they really wanted this one right from the opening tip, but I imagine that UNC was an angry team after getting clobbered by MSU on Thursday. The ladies haven't beaten UNC since Shannon took over as head coach.

There was no stopping Stockholm in the first half, but they really shut her down in the second half. Also, Abby Anderson had to leave the game in the second half because of an apparent ankle injury and did not return, so that left Stockholm and Jamie Pickens as the only players 6-2 or taller left. Hopefully Anderson's injury isn't too bad, because she's really been hitting a groove since Big Sky play started last week.

They seem to be coming around on the court, still some fundamentals, you just can't miss the ducks under the basket, layups etc. Turnovers! I counted at least 6 missed shots under the basket, some uncontested. Hope Abbey is not seriously injured, B-ball is a rough sport! Go LGriz!
