Lady Griz just one win over ISU to host tournament

Lady Griz beat PSU 89 - 77.

Katie Edwards scored 26 points on 11 - 17 from the field, 4 - 7 from 3 point line. Before the game, needed 9 to take over Big Sky Conference 3 pt field goal record. Now just 5 more 3 pt field goals will take the lead over former WSU player Julie Gjertsen.

Mandy Morales scored 20 points despite fouling out on some mystery call. Shot 6 - 12 from the field, 7 - 7 from the freethrow line, and 1 - 4 from 3 pt line. Had 7 rebounds, but also had 8 turnovers. EWU and PSU were really tough on Mandy this year. Overall, Mandy turned over 30 times against both of these teams. EWU was the only team that was able to hold her down with scoring though, holding her under 10 points in Cheney.

Both Jody Mcleod and Tamara Guardipee had double-doubles.

Jody scored 12 points, and 11 rebounds.
Tamara had 11 points, and 13 rebounds.

Lady Griz just needs to beat ISU next thursday to host the tournament.

last summer during the lady griz camp i was strolling through the hall of champions. there sitting on the floor in a corner was tam reading a book. "i see you're in the hall of fame," i joked. little did i know.

There is an awesome picture in today's Trib of Gardipee rejecting a shot. The PSU player who had been trying to shoot is wilting and cringing not to get hit in the face with the the ball. It's wicked.
