LadyGriz Lady Griz in the Big Sky Tourney

Montana had a fantastic yr. However live by the 3 die by the 3 was the motto we saw throughout the yr.

Congrats to coach Gleason at EWU. 3 yrs ago she came aboard as did Campbell at Sac, Mattio at UNC and Holsinger at UM.

One can argue that Gleason has done more with less at EWU than any of the others besides Campbell at Sac St in 2 yrs. Gleason at EWU can arguably be the best hire of the 4 in that yr.

PS no shade thrown at anyone. Just feel like this is a valid discussion based on new hires in BSC that yr and now have had time to establish programs.

Toughts...

No shade being thrown anywhere... In fact, proof that the EWU coaching team of Joddie and Skip Gleason is in plain sight on the Big Sky Conf. team statistics page and team turnover stats. Ranked 3rd in offense behind leaders NAU and Montana, the Eagles were clearly the best defensive team while the Jacks and Griz fell into the bottom half of the league defensively. But it's another area where Gleason's skill really shines: In-game adjustments, mainly on defense, but also offense... usually easily seen after quarter & halftime breaks. I submit for proof the final quarter of the Big Sky Conf. championship game where the EWU defense (which forced 20 NAU turnovers overall) shut down the NAU interior offense & turned a tie game at 48 into an EWU 9-point win.

The only area where coach Gleason and her team "failed" is in generating any interest from EWU fans, who barely cracked 800 fans in per-game average attendance this year.

All that said, I believe coach Holsinger is building a solid team culture at UM.
The Big Sky will be tough next year. There are a lot of very good coaches in the Big Sky right now.
