Lady Griz at PSU

Lady Griz 76 PSU 65.

One game behind NAU and 2 games behind EWU with 3 games left.

Unlikely will catch EWU, but certainly possible. Just maybe Lady Griz wins out which would include beating EWU, along with MSU beating EWU and remain in 4th place, Lady Griz will finish higher than EWU. But EWU is the only team MSU beat while giving up 60 points or more in a game. Can MSU do it again? MSU scoring more than 60 points is a rare occurrence. EWU averages more than 60 points. I don't see MSU beating EWU even in Bozeman. But, the Lady Griz may need to rely on beating EWU and MSU beating EWU to finish ahead of EWU because I do not see EWU losing to Sac St.

More likely to catch NAU but with still very low odds of doing so. NAU still has a tie breaker over the Lady Griz because NAU swept MSU and beat EWU. I believe Lady Griz will still have to win out, and NAU lose two games. Mostly because of NAU's sweep of MSU. Also, the remaining schedule favors NAU than Lady Griz.

So, Predict Lady Griz to finish 3rd and will have to win 3 games in 3 days to win the Big Sky Tournament.

Well, actually, the LG have been in a play-off mode for the last couple of weeks; it's the nature of the beast sort of deal. If the LG defeats Eastern Washington come Thursday, then the LG can present the argument that they've defeated every team in the conference at least once, splitting with Northern Colorado, MSU, NAU and EWU. Going into the Big Sky Conference Tournament at Boise seeded no less than third; perhaps tied with second, depending. All the LG have to do is take care of business and win all of their remaining games in the regular season for that.

With that information and a little bit more of the confidence/momentum the LG should consider playing for the Conference Championship come March in Boise. With a four game winning streak already in toll, the next game is a 'must' for the LG to win. That'll set the stage for the faceoff in Boise on a neutral court for a probable best of three rubber match.

Yes, but could the Ladies beat those naia all-stars that Hoops has propounded. You know, Pickens, Albrecht, Moburg (sp) etal. I believe I will venture out on a limb and state that the LG would be doing the pounding. Come on Boise!!

Nope. Couldn’t.

Pickens would be playing for the Lady Griz today if Shannon wasn't fired. She would also be playing for the Lady Griz if she decided to stay because she is one player Holsinger would not have fired.

Here is comment that some, including Hopps, will disagree with. If Pickens had stayed, I wonder where she would be playing. I say both Gfeller and Bartsch are both better all around players so her role may be to come off the bench and relieve them. This is a serious comment and i will be interested in the reaction

If she stayed she would be starting along with Gfeller and Bartsch. Of course, if she stayed some of the players we have now, may not be around. My guess Pirog would not be here. Pickens is far better than her. P:ickens would have improved the inside game, meaning not so reliant on the 3 point shot.

Agree. Pickens, Gfeller, and Bartsch would be starting. Bartsch would play the 3. Pickens is a big strong girl and definitely D1 talent.
