Lady Griz all alone at top, but do not have the advantage

PSU 81, ISU 63

Lady Griz lead both ISU and PSU by 1 game.

But, PSU beat ISU twice this year. Best Lady Griz can do is split with ISU. PSU will have a tie breaker over Lady Griz.

What PSU's win over ISU did was:

Lady Griz win out, Lady Griz win the conference.
PSU wins out, PSU wins the conference.

Schedule favors PSU. Three home, two road games. Lady Griz have 4 road games, two home games.

The NY Giants already, amongst many others in the past, disproved the various notion that the home team always wins, etc.

What the LG need is a post player that knows how to make a hook shot instead of over-exerting a bull-in-a-china-closet-syndrome do-or-die so-called layup whether it's three or four on one or not, sometimes it's rather embarrassing; as well as trying to make a trey when she's 0 - 16 for the season. Or else try starting Shadra R. and playing a couple others into the mix like Linford and Stender, they're not that 'bad' are they?...to sit a whole season on the bench wasting an entire year?

P.S.-Maybe it's too much political pressure from the so-called boosters in the Missoula area exerting undue pressure as well. Wouldn't surprise me any. Not blaming the coaching staff any for having to bend a knee to them but some people really take themselves too seriously on how much clot they have. Athletic Department not putting in for an NCAA Round hosting because it's too much work for them?...while just about everyone else in the nation does so and can. What are they trying to hide that seems to be under the surface of things? [Got to save money for football recruiting isn't the only 'issue.']

Loss by PSU to WSU, now gives the advantage to Lady Griz.

Lady Griz the only team that doesn't have to rely on another team to lose. Destiny is under your control Lady Griz. Now go do it.

Actually, if Idaho State wins out its' last five games...the Bengals take first-place and host the tournament. If that happens, the Bengals would be 13-3, and even if the Lady Griz had the same record, ISU would win virtue of the tie-breaker. As long as ISU wins out it doesn't matter if PSU holds a tie-breaker with the Bengals because the best PSU can do is finish 12-4.

Now, having said that...can any of you remember the last time ISU swept the LG? It's only happened once in history, back during Ardie McInelley's last year as ISU's Coach when they went 14-0 in league play in 1999-2000. Montana almost never loses at home...ISU won't be making 34 free throws against the Griz Saturday either...the refs just won't let thay happen in Missoula, no matter who the opponent is.

This is also true. If either the Lady Griz or ISU win out, they earn the right to host the conference tournament. Both teams cannot win out, as they still play one more game against each other.

Proves how huge this Saturday's game against ISU is. Assuming that both ISU & UM win their games on Thursday the Lady Griz will have a chance to get two games up on ISU.

I overlooked ISU when I wrote my last post in this thread. Just didn't bother to correct it later.

But, if any team overlooks the first game, saturday's game could have a different meaning. Both Weber State and Montana State are playing better. I think ISU will have a more difficult time beating Montana State, than Weber State beating Lady Griz.

Sorry, What I meant to say didn't come out very well. But, I corrected it. to late for correcting the original post.

Doma may be the best women's player in the BSC since Shannon Cate. Her approach reminds of Larry K -- hardhat, blue collar, carry your lunch bucket to work, score 20-something and get double digit rebounds.

By the way, Guardipee was offensive vs Weber ... eight points early, 12 for the night -- I hope the big native post players pound Doma, but we'll need some quick help to double team.

I agree Doma is one of the best Big Sky players I've seen in awhile. I also think that Morales, when healthy, is up there with the best overall players in the conference. She can score 30 points a night, or if needed, can get 10 assists and 7 boards.

This will be an awesome game... Kinda like UNC and Duke playing for the top-seed in the ACC...

I expect you guys will be all over Doma tomorrow night, since she has a chance to break Shannon's all-time BSC scoring record right there in front of her. But I DO know the win will be the first priority...the record will be hers, even if not tomorrow night.

And, the game is ISU's last road game of the regular season, as they close out at home against SAC, NAU and Weber.

I'm looking forward to seeing you great LG fans there!
