Lady Griz beat PSU by 20 on hot shooting by Katie Edwards in the first half. She scored 25 points for the game.
Juliann Keller did not play today due to a broken nose. Should be able to play saturday assuming that she can wear a mask to protect her nose.
Amy Brooks started for Keller, and had a decent game. Scored 7 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Didn't really lose to much scoring punch with her in and Keller out.
Jody Mcleod had her best game of the year, scoring 11 points and getting 14 rebounds.
Holly Tyler also scored in double figures with 15 points.
Lindsay Monaco had 10 assists and only 2 turnovers. She is getting better at taking care of the ball, though she will never be pretty at taking it down the court like Brooklyn Lorenzen did.
With Mikela Schmitz out for the season due to ACL, there will be a lot of pressure on Monaco.
The backup to Monaco is Dana Conway, whose true position is a 2 guard, but is now be forced into the backup point guard. Actually, she kind of has been forced into it a couple of games ago. Today, she did have a few problems, turning the ball over 5 times and no assists. Hopefully, with a lot of playing time she will be able to improve at this position and become adequate backup. Hope so. It is mostly building up her confidence and experience. I do not expect her to get very minutes this saturday against EWU.
Next game is EWU. EWU beat MSU in Bozeman 69 - 63.
