Last year's Big Sky freshman player of the year Mack Konig tied her career best 21 points in a game. 2 of 3 from 3 point line, 7 - 11 overall, and 5 for 6 from free throw line.

Gfeller scored 10 points, and Macy Huard scored 12 points.

Lady Griz scored way above average from 3 point line at 52.4%, and 52% overall which was way above average.

Lady Griz held USD to 52 points which is the lowest point total given up to an opponent. Good defense today, particularly in the second half.

Was a fun game to watch. Also nice to see Macey Huard break out of her little slump and take some better shots. I agree that defense was good today...probably best of the year,

Was wondering how the LG would do since San Diego has already won out over two other Big sky teams in Portland St. (71-43) and Weber St. (56-53).

Sorry about the double-thread post... I was writing when this one went up.

Montana nails 4 treys in the first quarter, finishes the game with 11 treys & blows past San Diego by 20, 72-52.
Easily Mack Konig's best game of the season with 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting and four assists.
Frosh Macey Huard scored 12 points in 17 minutes on the court, nailing five of her seven attempts.
Carmen Gfeller made 10 points, but did not get many opportunities, converting three of seven shots.
The Griz won most aspects of the game, but turned the ball over 18 times against San Diego's pressure & trapping defense. When the Griz rotated past the pressure D, they got numerous wide open perimeter shots.
The big number was 52... as in 52% shooting for the GrizWBB from all over the floor, including beyond the arc (11-21).
A good game for the Griz since Macey Huard seemed relaxed & was not forcing her shots. Also good... soph Alex Pirog, who played 13 minutes and scored 4 points while playing solid interior D vs. a taller San Diego post.
Montana will play the UC San Diego tomorrow in their last game until Big Sky Conf. play starts up on Dec. 28. Go Griz WBB.

Tomorrow's opponent, UC San Diego, beat previously 8-3 Boise State 62-56 in the later game. Of note, UC San Diego also has a win over San Diego State but lost to NAU 69-74. Gametime will be the same 3pm MT tip on ESPN+ again.
